Good game, but weak story and definitely over-hyped.

Red Dead Redemption [Software Pyramide] (Video Game)

Customer Review

I try using certain points of the game, which I liked and did not like to disskutieren by:

- The Games world. As great as many say it is not, but already has a very nice size. It is a pity that many areas see very similar (just desert). While there are always here and there any rogue hiding, but so spectacular they are just not well. It is also funny that the last of the 3 areas that can be entered, although is the smallest, but is the most diverse.
Also, I found it bit stupid, that the whole world is just only gradually unlocked. Would have liked that you can enter everything from the beginning.

- The main missions and the story. Some of the missions were indeed really good, but most are fairly similar - ride there somewhere, en masse umnieten opponent - that's it. Often it is also bit ridiculous, how many enemies come to a - no one has shot down a wave, coming after a few seconds before the next. But well, it's just simply a video game, and players will have exactly. The atmosphere's destroyed but still a bit.
However, the story was much worse MMN: No big twists, no surprises and interesting moments - most of the time the game about not really what happens. The aim of the game character is the same as at the beginning of the game. It sometimes changes the scene, but that's about it. Although you get with certain events in the region or other characters, but it does not change one's own story. Incidentally, one is essentially the whole time of the game alone. At times, one has indeed allies, but after some time the character takes always more alone, which is why the fate of the supporting characters a self does not really seem important. It is also stupid that many missions end quite abruptly - at a mission, for example, a more or less important character was kidnapped. Man rushes to the ropes and freed this person, then follow very few words and the Mission is over, without much dialogue, although this would be appropriate at this point thoroughly.
The character is sometimes strange - times do not interest him the problems of others, times, and in the end he just followed only his own goal. In principle, this is also a good idea that the character is just not clearly good or bad, but on the other hand it acts as many times as a spectator, and less like the main character, I think.
I also found many of the supporting characters bit annoying - some I am very often asked why the main character ever write with them and help them, even though they would not be a great help and very clearly only exploit the character. The answer is probably that Rockstar just wanted to have his comic-like and bizarre supporting characters in the game again, but the partially quite nervous.
The same applies to the short stories of 'Stranger' missions, which are side missions in the end. The stories that are told here are typical Rockstar: cynical, sarcastic and provocative. However, so predictable that the hoped-for Rockstar 'shock-moment' usually does not occur and the stories are far unlustiger than they should be.
A major criticism is that the main missions, as is common already by GTA, are designed extremely linear. It has hardly discretions as usual in the free world of the game, but is strictly bound to instructions, even if one would even sometimes prefer a different approach. One thus plays halt after only the script, which provides for a rockstar.
However, the biggest disappointment was probably the end: Here you probably wanted simply to tickle only emotions from the player, but overlook the fact that the plot has many gaps. Could have been done better. Compared to COD, it is of course still quite good, but compared with a really good plot that acts here like a bad movie.

- The hunting system. The game features a relatively large OpenWorld, where many animals live, you can also hunt and skins to the stuff then sell later. Power MMN fun, loszureiten into the wilderness and animals that one sees to kill. The game also features ne relatively wide range of animals, which the hunting motivated. In real life, I'm not a fan of "hunting of animals", but here in the game you can make it so quiet and it also makes a lot of fun.

- The random events in the game. Sometimes in the cities or in the wild appear people who ask the player in a thing to help. Clean from the idea pretty good idea that the world is just actually lives and not just a 'dead game world' and the player has the option to either watch or actually intervene. Unfortunately, the events during the game repeated many times and from one moment I simply ignored the people, as it was again the same event for the 4th or 5th time anyway and in the end it does not really worthwhile to pursue the requests.

- The challenges. Actually a pretty good idea, because you experience so more of the open game world, but here you could have a lot more challenges (especially with regard to the hunting) and also it's stupid that the challenges each time heavier and heavier and eventually lose grip the desire it. Even the 'treasures search' is unnecessarily complicated: You get a treasure map with a very vague drawing and will now find the treasure. May indeed be 'realistic', on the other hand that will probably only manage that scour the entire world and know them by heart. Here one would have something simpler, can make more motivating such as "Go from the point and the 100 steps to the east, then ...". Had I found better in person.

- Various annoying trifles. This item refers in particular aspects of the game that should be 'realistic', but ultimately annoying, such as the high incidence of damage. Often I'm in the game simply by died that I crashed somewhere. And the player dies very easily through the traps. The horse that matter. Once, for example, I had my horse called to me while I was near a cliff. The horse is jumping course from the top down to me ... and dies, of course because of the damage case. And as I was then, in the middle of nowhere, with no horse. Toll. By the way you can sometimes see animals in the wild, the plunge to his death. I do not think that in reality animals were really so stupid. Especially in a game one can easily turn down the case, damage something, I find.
Another point is that the character standard moderately runs very slow. Should he run, must be kept pressed or typed X several times, which is annoying. And even then it does not run really fast and looks like a robot in its running movements. Again, you would be able to offer something more quiet 'comfort' for the player.
Another point would be that certain predators are extremely strong, are extremely aggressive and apparently often turn up in droves. So enough primarily from an attack of a cougar to kill the horse immediately. A horse! So weak the animals are now not even built !! For the players it takes 2 attacks until he is dead, and that can look like this: First attack of the Pumas out of nowhere, it is located on the ground, would himself around grad because - second attack. Tot. Can the beginning already frusten bit, luckily you later in the game to get out at some point the shooting and know how to proceed with something in order to survive, but a bit extreme, I find. Worse is that the larger predators are an increasingly hostile and always start to attack as soon as one is in sight is. I'm pretty sure that most animals would not be as aggressive crackdown on people beeen horse. In addition, the predators sometimes spawn in the same place very often, which makes no sense partly. For example, I had it once, that had shot into a bear. 2 meters is the next. After few seconds the next. At the end there were 5 or 6 pieces, before I decided wegzureiten. Once I had it, I was just about to fight a bear, while a second comes out of nowhere and attack me from behind deadly. Here you would have a little less calm animals could be spawn.
Another point is the deadly water. Yes, water is just as deadly as for example in GTA3 in "Red Dead Redemption". In one mission, the character even admits that he can not swim. However, this does not mean anyway that once you are in deep water, you're dead right away readily. By the way the horses and all the other characters in the game can apparently not swim (was in a mission once an important character pushed accidentally into the water, after which the mission was a failure, because the character had died). Of course, Rockstar wanted to especially ensure that the players already can not enter the game world - the water is just as an alternative to 'invisible walls'.
Another point would be the horse. They behave just as annoying as well real horses - wander away sometimes, are stubborn, no 'handbrake', etc. Furthermore, one must always have tap X also riding for sprinting - you do that too often, the horse is exhausted and makes not with and takes a down. So always tap X, pause, tap X, pause, etc. In my opinion, again unnecessarily complicated and 'realistic', here you should have just take a more comfortable control.

CONCLUSION:
I've written quite a bit now though negative about the game, but that does not mean that I did not like the game. On the contrary, I found it quite good. Much of the game is quite fun, but it must be even be mentioned that many little things spoil the overall impression a bit when it comes to pure fun. People who love to go realism, the game will appreciate many of the little things. The Story MMN pretty weak and the final acts as "a means to an end". Overall, I have about 30 hours for the game needed, where I had wasted quite a lot of time in the free world.
Overall, "Red Dead Redemption" but quite a gaming value play that's fun, but not perfect.
