First, I have looked at the WD Red, but these are I honestly too expensive. Since my NAS data reflects, I then accepted the "risk" and even brought the Toshiba drives. 2 x 1TB Samsung plates against these 2 x 2TB drives swapped, formatted and loskopiert. The performance is ok, the network, I push with just 18-28MB / s, the data on the NAS, depending on what I just copy there and enabled with Jumbo Frames.
The housing of the NAS is the new plates barely warmer than before, at least not felt. In addition, there is a nice side effect: these plates go Toshiba really down after 15 minutes as I have set it in the old Samsung that has not happened.
My Samsung plates had from time to time noises made to lock the head, so far I can not perceive something in the Toshiba, and my NAS is here in the basement on the desk next to the PC.
When network access to stream something there were no problems, no delayed streams or discontinuations.
For long-term durability I can not comment, but will that make up for, to do what is there.
I am quite pleased with these boards, both the performance and the price. Full 5 stars and my recommendation.
