The installation of Debian is working properly based on a guidance of Martin Michlmayr, which is easily found on the Internet, and is analogous to the device QNAP TS-112.
The system boots after installing Debian significantly faster than the original firmware from QNAP. Via SSH you can after about 30 seconds dial, the remaining services (eg Squeezebox Server) start within a further 30 seconds. The boot time is reduced by one minute compared to the original Linux by a whopping four minutes!
On the finished Debian system running services like Squeezebox Server 7.7.3, OpenVPN, transmission, Samba, and overall the system is fast and fluid. Thanks to the excellent support provided by Debian this device of mine gets therefore a perfect score.
