Good impression with swabs

I purchased the vehicle for a Mercedes ML. I was looking for a carrier for the occasional transport of 1 ..2 bicycles. Since I'm going to use the device probably rarely I once dispensed the quick assembly device. Fortunately, I can indeed still be retrofitted when needed.

first impression:
The piece comes disassembled and packed. The items for make an overall good impression being processed it in a few places on the silver-gray painted steel parts already rust characteristics are (1er star deduction). Of course, I do not like.

Assembly:
Actually quite simple, though one must have a decent set of spanners (if possible ring or open-end wrench Nußsatz +), for the mounting screws should be tightened.
What I do not like and what especially for the manufacturers really minimal effort it would amend, is in my view absolutely poor assembly instructions (2nd star deduction).
The text is written cumbersome and along with the few bad images that basically simple assembly is complicated unnecessary. Some meaningful images in meaningful partial steps, that would be a "thing" assembled in a few minutes and you could even almost completely dispense with the text.
Shame !!. The manufacturer has saved on the cheapest and most wrong place. Exactly the same situation was criticized in other reviews here on Amazon since 2011 on several occasions. Obviously not interested in the manufacturer but. Really amazing ...........

Private:
I have now used it for the first time and am pleasantly surprised. The attachment to the tow bar is easy and secure. Of course, it takes with the wrench slightly longer than with the optional quick release, but for me that's ok
By pivoting device can tilt the holder forward and even at my Mercedes ML I can then still easily open the tailgate.
Fiddly is the fastening of the bike with the mounting strap. But I guess this is similar to bad for all holders.
