Its field of application for me is mainly the display of source code and sometimes even a game, so I put more emphasis on fatigue as to correct color reproduction. This is the purpose of EV2736 least as good as the Budget monitors. The increased resolution is very useful for a more fit lines of code on the screen, on the other hand can be a 1920x1080 image (either Remote Desktop, Photoshop or GUI design) represent completely and still has surplus for title bar, toolbar and panels.
In the evening, however, the EV2736 has serious problems. The brightness is automatically adjusted to the room (can be switched off, but is ansich a very nice feature), and in low light very strong halos in the bottom corners are visible. So strong that it is very difficult to identify what should be actually displayed there. A reasonable backlight would actually be the first and most important thing I expect in the semi-professional category.
Frame and base are very solid, there are physical buttons used (no cheap capacitive sensors) and the option to connect via DisplayPort is very welcome. Overall, thoroughly recommended, not only for dark rooms :)
