I use the 4HD currently with a Logitech G400 mouse. Prior to an MX518 Refresh was also no problem in use.
At the Maudpad is good: It slips on my wooden desk not the least bit, the sliding characteristics (were) good. BUT:
"Goods", because I use the mouse pad now since the end of December 2010 so but for quite a while. In the area where I mainly move the mouse, the resistance has become significantly higher. You glide your finger over it, you realize that has become smooth the surface (simply worn). At the edges of the mouse glides much better, they make you feel even the structure. I guess after 2.5 years may have a mouse pad but such wear.
I But why 2 stars depart, and what do I find an absurdity: The mouse has significant problems with laser mice! My G400 is an optical mouse works as usual flawlessly. The G500 which I had borrowed from a friend but jerky.
It was then, but even worse. I want to exchange my G400 for a while with a wireless mouse. The first purchased Logitech Performance Mouse MX was absolutely useless to the 4HD! The mouse jerky just as though to himself, working on or even play was impossible. I then tested a Logitech G700. The mouse runs on the X-axis good, on the Y axis occurs sporadically but also drop outs! Also, I got a cramp in my arms when it came to click on small objects because the mouse ran extremely imprecise (eg a window close).
In research I found a review that constitutes the reflective surface of the 4HD as a problem for laser mice.
If you want to use the mouse pad so a laser mouse, you can just forget it in a Logitech product with other manufacturers, you should test the mouse pad definitely before!
After 2.5 years of service I'm going now to buy a new mouse pad, perhaps the Razer Scarab, which seems at least to cause any trouble with laser mice!
