Although the Kenwood DDX4021BT mediocre cuts here in the recession, I have decided for the following reasons:
-The Operation is almost self-explanatory, menu navigation not nested or unnecessarily overloaded, yet one can not help to study the manual for the subtleties.
- The radio has a knob for volume, incredibly handy if you do not want to look while driving to tiny "Volume +/-" buttons, similar to those installed on many devices of this type.
- The design: the radio acts processed timeless and high quality. This thing looks really good.
You can get information on the Kenwood Homapage of each function and features, so I do not want to comment on that further.
My experience so far:
The device is ready for about 5 seconds after switching on, an absolutely acceptable value. Even the reading of CD / DVD and USB goes quite fast by Equip for my taste.
The touch screen is sensitive and precise, the icons are not too small.
The color of the keypad illumination can be adapted across the color spectrum by car.
Making calls via Bluetooth to function properly, the performance of mitglieferten external microphone could be a bit better, my opposite talked about, I would be a bit quiet. The pairing with my Nokia is done within a few seconds. Once paired, the radio, the phone recognizes when you turn immediately, provided that it is within reach and Bluetooth is turned on on the mobile phone.
Tip: In the phone number saved in the phone memory should be and not on the SIM card because the radio has Bluetooth on the SIM card do not have access.
The radio reception is good, the station name and additional information is displayed.
Sound: still the most important on the radio. A noticeable improvement to the original radio, but you should not expect miracles when on loudspeaker page else in the car everything stays the same.
There are plenty of opportunities to sound using predefined or user-specific equalizer settings to adjust to their needs.
There is the possibility of an additional Kenwood navigation computer (accessory) to connect to the radio, I-Phone owners can also have the Garmin navigation (paid app) running on the device.
DVD playback: There is a little something to consider: DVDs will not play when the green cable is not connected to the switch of the hand brake, and then only when the car is stationary. If you want to DVDs while driving play eg for the passenger or on another screen on the back seat, you have to connect this cable to the vehicle or radio mass.
USB: Due to the USB interface on the radio front you should buy a Micro-USB memory stick, this is available for little money (8GB starting at about 6) and does not look so far forward as an ordinary USB flash drive.
On the rear panel there are various connectivity options for an output stage, a separate subwoofer and a reversing camera.
Conclusion: The Kenwood DDX4021BT is a high-quality, full-featured device that for the price offers much value and a great finish.
So why only 4 stars?
There is also a point of criticism: The radio only works with the ignition on. This is particularly absurd when you want to use the device in the state when the car is parked. Oddly go today almost all manufacturers this way. "Before," there was a meaningful circuit which made it possible to operate the radio with the ignition off, the unit then switched off after an hour automatically to the battery not leerzusaugen for car stereos. Why is no longer possible today is incomprehensible for me.
Furthermore, one might have shed light on the ON / OFF switch also with the radio turned off so that you can find him better in the dark.
It is often the little things, then not leave the a really good product in detail somehow seem quite mature.
A word on the Amazon Warehouse deal: I have "used, like new" as the unit purchased, which is about 30 saves. I got a totally new unit, with no signs of wear. I'll pay more in the future on such offers.
