I have to say truly that I find the office products very expensive if you now fetches the Home and Business or Professional version. Therefore, this is the perfect alternative for me. If the price of the more expensive products for you forever together counted for 5 PCs, one comes after 12 years (for Home and Business) or 22 years (for Professional) cost on those who caused the 365er version. Well you have of course to say that one can use Home and Business and Professional commercially and most likely not on a 5 Keys buys time, but the statement shows a bit. Especially as after 6-8 years anyway buys a new Office.
To install
Easier than ever. You have a Live ID account or with a login and the product on this Register. Now you can download the installation files. The installer is about 1MB in size, loads the actual Office but down only in the background. What is very annoying and ugly that you can not select Use Custom Install. So you can not determine the installation without detours and if really want to install all the programs.
Schön is, however, that you can use Office already while it is still installed. It will also automatically detect whether you have a 64x or 32x System
The Office's website also can be installed on the PC on which the Office is disable, ie you can no longer use on the corresponding PC. This is very useful when a stolen laptop or when reinstalling Windows.
To Office:
The known surface from 2007 and 2010 has been further improved and can be used very nicely. Only fits not entirely new to Windows 8 Style. Otherwise it's like any good office, you can do an incredible amount, just the option to form letters has become more beautiful, the language support has improved in my opinion. Manuscripts are recognized, text from image has improved and you can without additional program PDFs convert and edit files in Word. This feature also works very well when the PDF is not too long and not too many graphics has.
The image editing options and filters are okay for quick adjustments, but you could slowly add new designs and more templates.
The add-ons that you can download have no excessive choice, you do not need the most but. Only for Outlook are 1-2 useful here.
The performance has improved slightly, but gets Word for documents over 70 pages Problems with shifts and lots of pictures. Even the editing of document properties and more detailed print options let anything slow in coming, even more when the printer on the network.
Otherwise I am very happy and I think that programs like OpenOffice can not keep up as long.
Also on the subject of newcomers, says my friend, so that they get along well, even if it now does not use complex functions.
The SkyDrive integration is okay, but could be improved, for the use of it.
Among the advanced options:
SkyDrive:
Additionally you get 25GB of SkyDrive storage, but only for the account for you Join the Office product. It is my personal opinion, but SkyDrive is getting better and is on the verge of replacing Dropbox for me. Grade the WebApps have become quite well that all is enough for easy typing and small graphics. That is also the great advantage over Dropbox. Only the desktop Clint is in need of improvement, since it starts very slow and long for comparing the files need.
Skype:
You will also receive 60 minutes free Skype for each month. You have these though only activate separately, but it is quite nice when you can so talk to friends abroad without simply that what it costs. The 60 minutes are only valid for landlines and loud MS in over 60 countries. I can only say that Spain and USA can include obvious. Since MS has bought Skype, but I miss the painful function of offline messages, which has here but really nothing to look for.
Free Smartphone Apps:
Another offer is to use up to 5 times Office mobile app for free. I can only judge how this is for Android, but it is needed to write and read. Insert images's more, even the font properties are changing only cumbersome. Google is much better with Google Drive. But I do not know how the functions of IOS or WP8 are.
Xbox Live Gold:
This has been an annoying story. There was an action of MS, at the office you can buy 365 and to one year Live Gold gets. This is, after all, worth 60 euros. So I registered on the MS side for this action, because I have fulfilled all the necessary conditions. (And so bought in the period from Julie to September within these countries) Then I got the news that I get the key within 4 weeks. 1 months is long, but I was willing to wait as long.
After 4 weeks was just nothing, so even call Microsoft Support and you need up to 4 minutes to come at all on hold. Then a clichéd support staff came to the phone, with an Indian accent that did not understand what I wanted, and when he realized it then assured me that the key is coming, but only after he had spoken with his supervisor.
After a week still nothing. Called again and pushed by a support to the next, because neither office nor Xbox seem responsible.
Then I was lucky in a very competent man, who although not directly had a solution, but was very friendly and opened directly in MS in the USA a case for that to be done there.
But those who have taken his time, but now I have the code.
