Good picture, good sound - super value for money

I was looking for a video recorder with the I sometimes take up to something and my old movies can play. This is precisely the claim satisfies the Philips VR 550 video recorder. Picture and sound are for my purposes perfectly okay (Who wants to perfect image quality, buys probably now more a DVD recorder.)
Operation is simple (on-screen display, automatic programming, Long Play, etc.). What is missing is ShowView and VPS that there but the next higher model for at least 30 euros more. Because I'd rather have saved the money.
Well, the silver look is modern, but the display with its huge green digits reminds more of a cheap digital watch from the 80s.
All in all, but you can at this price really for a stereo VCR not complain. For people who want to record only from time to time something, or who need a second machine next to the DVD recorder to play the old movies, I can only recommend this device.
