+ Operator rejects 1: 1 to the PS3 menu and is very intuitive.
The animation while menu changes are executed but somewhat choppy.
This does not mean that you have to wait for button pushes here.
He always responds afloat. The animation is simply not as soft as butter.
This has been significantly improved with the firmware from Febr. 2012.
+ Beautiful design with wertig seeming brushed surface (but everything is plastic)
+ Low latency for BD-start. At Universal BDs I often waited only 5 seconds. The boot time (Off / On / ready to play) but is relatively long (20 seconds maybe).
+ (Thank my Beamer) compared to the PS3 less common and lightning fast video mode switching
+ Only 10 watts power consumption in operation. So shall also not warm.
+ Good variety of online video services (including VoD LOVEFiLM -. Maxdome missing * full list below)
+ Linux is based - support thus restricted Ext4 formatted USB HDDs or Sticks
+ Key Lock on the player - who has children knows why I think that's great.
o Operating noise is depending on a disc inserted into an audible until barely perceptible high frequency sound.
Here one must take clear to the high-priced something compromising in purchasing. Does IMHO but ok.
People with sensitive earing should let him show off maybe (or test by Amazon).
To me it sounds like my PS3 fat without any Lüftergedröhne. From 3m distance I hear the Seekgeräusche.
o 24p material is always displayed from USB with 59.9 Hz - but for completely smooth! Took me again very surprised.
o dynamic limiter and Neo6 ensure converted to PCM output for HD audio streams - should therefore disable all one
o Non-illuminated remote control with good feel but not freely programmable buttons for TV volume (only via access code specific manufacturer)
o Ausfahrgeräusch the drawer just sounds a bit mechanical and is not just a slip.
The buttons on top of the housing need for my taste a little too much force to trigger and sound rather cheap.
o no optical audio output - only stereo RCA, digital RCA, HDMI and LAN
o no HDMI 1.4 so no super great "my eyes hurt" 3D
o no WiFi - not via a USB adapter
- This BD player is clearly not konzipert for music playback. The menu options are limited to the absolute minimum.
As far as I've seen, there is nowhere Cover or metadata support. Repeat Fast forward, next track, Shuffle and folder or title. That's it! For CDs can not even specify the desired track number one.
- No CIFS or DNLA Support
- No SAVCD
- Sony Online Video Library coated expensive. Who please borrows a movie in HD for 4 EUR, if there is the BD for 10?
For video quality I now saw no discernible difference to my PS3. Since everything is digital, I do not believe in too much difference. It is more than good. No tearing, no dropouts or even image distortion.
Upscaling looks far also good, but raises a DVD not in BD-Spheres.
The support video formats of success as usual is a bit inconsistent. Although I've tried here material once cross from a decade.
M2TS and MKV function properly as a rule. TrueHD, DTS HD passthrough seems to work in m2ts always. In MKVs he may well only newer.
WMV, DivX AVI and have the usual problems - sometimes no sound, no video times, sometimes nothing. DVD ISOs he takes unfortunately not to. VOBs I did not try.
* Here is the list of on 29/11/2011 drawn provider of video and music streams

Providers such as Pro7 show here only the usual on the website available episodes. So you do not get the regular TV program.
Music: Music Unlimited (Qriocity) ($$), Berliner Philharmoniker ($$), Tape.tv, Moshcam NPR National Public Radio
The list is subject to change daily and the Player updates it each time, provided that there is internet access via LAN.
Registration at LOVEFiLM and Qriocity performed using a PC / mobile browser.
On the website you are a one generated from the player ID and already he is linked to the SOE account. So pretty easy.
Overall I am very satisfied with the BD player.
Computer Bild has tested the players the way sometimes and confirms the good image quality. The final grade is 2:31 IMHO justified.
It is an entry-level device, which, however - next to a very handsome design - combined with easy operation provides good picture quality.
The equipment gaps for each other.
I lack DNLA and ordinary MP3 support (Cover Flow, Channels, Genre support) - other perhaps Simfy, WiFi, 3D. SACD support or a display.
The player makes but simply what he should, surprised with a wide range of online resources and what it lacks, one would simply have to pay with significantly more money.
