The Sony BDP-S1500 Blu-ray Player is small: 23 cm wide, 19 cm deep, no higher than 4 cm (gross values).
I have it with a good HDMI - connected cable (2m) on a Full HD Sony device.
The unit will start very quickly, much faster than my DVD - player or other Blu-ray player (eg Philips) I know.
One chooses a language and I had connected a network cable, the player was also quick to date.
(USB - Software update possible)
There are many apps to choose from. Amazon Prime repair video on Netflix to YouTube etc. I use the maintenance video app though on a video game console and need the apps not on the player.
The player provides all the necessary settings. Even some practical sound settings such as the DTS - conversion. I have no similar system 5.1 The sound on my TV - but equipment was good (The bass is not too loud, the dialogues clearly). I buy most times a soundbar, or a 2.1 system, etc.
Picture and sound were in sync. The reproduced sound is very quiet. Also much quieter than other players I know. This allowed me to even late into the night watching a movie, at a very low volume, without perceiving the player at all.
I have the player is not very long, which is why this information must be sufficient initially. Surely there are soon more reviews.
The player is very timely and it will certainly be a lot of updates available. One reason for me to buy this player. For older players, there are often no more updates quickly and suddenly you can no longer play a recent movie.
My personal conclusion:
A good, simple device for people who want to do without 3D and just want to enjoy undisturbed and long versions of their films in full HD.
