Preliminary briefly on the conditions under which I bought the television:
Previous TV was an approximately 80-85 cm Philips flat first-generation HD did not know, HMDI was a foreign word, SMART TV did not exist.
In 3-D, I have to test dispense eyeglasses on a LG with the passive 3-D. Is nice, but for me was not a must. The TV should be priced around 600, offer a good-very good picture, at least. Have 100Hz and Internet capable.
Well I bought the Samsung UE46ES5700 for 599 at a known market.
Chronologically advancing:
Packaging: Despite 46-inch model to cope alone without any problems, to wear in the 2.Stück is not a big challenge for a normal adult built.
Structure: simple, takes about 20 minutes, have the TV stand on the pedestal of which I am, however, a little disappointed. Previous test devices, but I have exchanged (Toshiba and LG) made a much more stable Eindruck.Das is a bit disturbing and could therefore come quality.
Optics: Here the Samsung is really nice to look at compared to other devices, an extremely flat edge, depth is nearly absent in the device. The shiny black surface is a matter of taste, not a major reason for me was to accept or reject a device. Cute is the Toshiba TL to look with matt-brushed look. The screen surface reflects the light influence, but does not affect drastically disturbing.
Reception: The built-in triple tuner I have not tested, I use a separate Sky receiver.
Picture: With HD channels top, here I have no complaints, even if Blue Ray very well. No penalty for this. For non-HD channels naturally used to. For fast image sequences, football for example, it depends on and on a bit. That made my old TV but also, I'm not sure why that is.
Tone: Use the first few days now an additional 2.1 system, because the sound is indeed not sufficient for real TV viewing. Is something tinny without additional speakers and the bass is not set properly at all regulation. Here still no point deduction, which is similar to a technical nature and with all other manufacturers. Only Grundig manages mM according despite flat devices to get a decent sound.
Smart TV: Runs with no problems, apps are quite nice, though no revelation. Much to the advantage passed to the Samsung web browser, which allows a complete access to the Internet. Use currently the remote to enter, but that is really cumbersome and slow, will soon use a keyboard.
Remote Control: If I place not much worth it. For self-explanatory me and after some trial and error in order.
USB Recording: Works for me not with standard USB flash drives (up to 8 GB have been tested). Usually, the read / -Schreibgeschwindigkeit is not sufficient. So external hard drive to it, you should have used but with no other material, the TV formats this and I strongly recommend a separate panel to use only for recording purposes. Then it goes smoothly.
Other features offered by the TV in abundance, but not all by. Update follows.
Conclusion: Large size, reasonable price, reasonable quality. Can recommend the television compared to the models of LG and Toshiba, which I can judge. At Toshiba, for example, the picture was even better, the LG had 3D case, both at similar prices. However, the Samsung in the overall package offers the most for the money.
