Your car papers will be perfectly preserved! You will not see your papers (license and car registration) damaged due to repeated opening because the product is not in the format 'portfolio' (open-type book).
The papers are placed on either side of the central pocket. As you can put your license on one side (in plastic), the gray card on the other, and your identity papers to the center.
I could not be more satisfied!
Perhaps sensitive to the stripe by the texture of leather, but I have not yet encountered the problem. Leather soft and pleasant to touch.
