The unit easily takes over. Its display lets you adjust the exact time of the camera, allowing subsequently a match without problems. Note that the time to first acquisition in a new place can easily exceed the minute, even on a relatively large square in town. This is the beginning of disabling walk. The time is significantly longer if we do not stand still with the GPS to a first location. Default very clear compared to my old device. By cons, once located, it is more accurate than the QStarz and especially not as easily pick up. Obviously his size allows him to integrate a better antenna.
The less product, the software suite. Very intuitive, the two programs do not allow me after many manipulations to tagging pictures. I finally opted for a fairly simple exercise: export the traces obtained nmea format to retrieve them under the excellent GeoSetter (freeware) which then offers more options than the Holux software.
It will take the uninitiated a bit of practice, but the process is fairly simple.
In the result, I am very happy with this new product, which I bypasses some flaws.
Benefits:
- Battery power with reasonable autonomy
- Time display (and other information)
- Sufficient memory to cover the path of a long-haul trips or multi-day vacation
Disadvantages:
- Space-saving
- A time very long initial localization (few widely exceed the 1 min 30s)
- Not very intuitive software for tagging photos, preferring the use of GeoSetter (freeware)
- The serial link that picks up with too much data to transfer
- Witness rudimentary battery (basically, it is full or empty)
