I bought this drive for my laptop (the new ones are often not equipped players / recorders).
Reading BluRays with VLC works perfectly (after retrieving CAHS).
I have not met a more non-etching problem with Corel DVD suite (installed by default in my machine)

Easy, fast and not too expensive ... go for it!
