I've already my second envelope and it had initially intended only as a scratch protection. But in the meantime, since my iPhone 5 fell several times from about 0.5 to 1 meter high and the shell has always held the harm from cell phones. Only last fall, the shell, but not the phone broke down, just as it should be. The biggest advantage for me is that the iPhone with this shell perfectly in my Brodit iPhone 4 / 4s mount fits without wobbling. I can therefore only recommended for those who want to have a protection for the corners and sides of your iPhone, yet not to destroy the optics.
