For this model, here are my + and -
The pros:
* A very affordable price for its overall quality
* A finish that after one day (I just got it) very convincing.
* A sound (since that is what counts above all) very balanced, precise enough. I listened better (AKG 90) but precisely at this price the sound is incomparable. Philips Congratulations! It is less comfortable with the bass. I would not recommend it for the DJ or the unconditional love tit boom. However this is more due to me a lack of very low frequencies. but again, it's light and here is corrected very easily with an equalizer.
* He's handsome. (Denim chosen model)
* The ribbon cable satisfy me at this stage (angle plug). Indeed, it seems pretty solid as any dish you say "this must be fragile," NO! I had already tested the ribbon cable on my mobile phone charger Samsung, it's a great invention! The switch works well (GSM Samsung, iMac). Not yet tested the microphone. The cable length (1,25m) is minimal but just enough.
* A very positive point is the insulation (both domestic quextérieure) formidable enough for that price. I tested the Bose models> 200 almost there for much cheaper!
* The sound is powerful: I tested the Sennheiser HD201 entry to 19 (around the ears) who had a sound almost as good but not powerful enough. I hesitated with it. The ideal helmet for me would comfort with Sennheiser sound and look of this Philips.
The -:
* It heats the ears. I had read. I have not paid much interest to these comments, I regret a little. Must say that this first day of testing, it is> 25 ° C ... A test in colder weather? After 10-15 minutes in this heat, it's really annoying! I wonder if this is not the price to pay in this type of headphones on to have a sound insulation that level. Or you have to go to larger models around the ears certainly more comfortable but look a little less connected. But it will be my next purchase ...
* In Version Denim, I find the hoop a little narrow (about 1 cm wide) and I think he will win to be a little wider and / or padded because it bothers me a bit at the top of the skull. Although its weight (complete with over 167gr) is very correct. I find it quite light. The greenhouse can be a bit too much (it's personal) but again this is certainly the price to pay for good sound insulation.
CONCLUSION:
I therefore recommend that the listener a variety of music (pop, jazz, voice, classical, rock, but not the 100% dance) that a fairly strong head and is not afraid to have the ears warm (I confess to being very sensitive) and seeks good insulation from the outside world and / or not to annoy his neighbor / her neighbor in bed or train for example; a powerful and well-balanced, good finish, a microphone and switch ON / OFF or next song (2 clicks).
