Buying criteria:
* Cheap replacement of obsolete equipment
* Easy Installation
* Identify and play MP3 files
* Plays CD, USB and Aux
After a long search, I have decided for this device, as it was in the price range of the best radio stations with a name known to me. Of course, is to be noted that there are cheaper devices of Sub-renowned audio manufacturers forging - I wanted to get involved but not for lack of experience on an experiment.
Attention during installation!
Another decision criterion for the JVC KD-R431 was accompanied by a "clever" harness (see picture). The Opel Corsa B has a certain malice in the radio installation. Due to differing slot assignment on integrated ISO plug on the car may cause the installation to frustration in maintaining the occupancies for Plus and permanent positive. This deviation from the norm is not Opel-own, but is also used by several other manufacturers.
What causes these "faulty assignment"? You will cause the radio is no current to obtain the transmitter memory available. The result: power to the radio are from the stored transmit gone ...
The included wiring harness on the one hand is the bridge between ISO connectors and the radio, on the other hand saves you cable fumbling, because the cables concerned are provided with connectors that are - depending on requirements - can reconnect accordingly. The whole process takes about 15 seconds and is described very simple and easily understood in the installation instructions.
Further installation went quite easily by hand and was completed after about 30 minutes.
The Result:
The radio went on without Zicken. Playback from USB stick and CD is very fast and sound properly. Also, the radio reception is a dream. Judging by the fact that is installed an original system from 1999 in the car radio brings quite a bit of potential from the dusty boxes, but miracles can not be expected in spite of everything.
Small drawbacks:
As often mentioned by previous speakers and -rednerinnen, the buttons are already badly small (see picture). This may in fact lead to problems in the operation while driving. But adjustments to fader or balance should not be made during the trip in my opinion anyway.
Conclusion:
The JVC KD-R431 is a great device for narrow money. You get more rather than too little, even if you should watch it live before, if you can cope with the very small keys. Buying the expandable handsfree JVC KS-BTA100 Bluetooth adapter is measured at the high price compared to the radio, a matter of taste. To complement the way the radio with a handsfree same manufacturer, however, I find worth mentioning.
Final tip:
Before buying it is worth looking behind the built-in radio. I have for my Corsa an adapter for the antenna connector required DIN - ISO antenna adapter. Whoever wants a Corsa B upgrade, but do not feel like the wrist has to twist should about buying a Hama Antenna Adapter, Plug DIN - think coupling ISO [Amazon Frustration-Free Packaging]. Why? Opel Corsa B was very economical in. Need to plug the antenna cable into the radio to the ashtray dismantle (4 Phillips screws) and "blind" behind the radio access ... fumbling you can save ....
