The positive facts come:
- Very good sound, even without making any adjustments, and even in stereo mode.
- Reasonable power consumption. Virtually 0 in standby, approximately 38-44 watts in 5.1 Surround mode at low volume.
However, the eco-features seem to have no impact on electricity consumption. It is not clear what will actually bring.
- The HDMI connection Laptop> Receiver> Monitor + Beamer works. Although it has used some Umsteckerei and by tasting of several cables, but now it is stable.
- The Bluetooth connection to various smartphones and iPad works without problems and very good. Unfortunately, this is not a foregone conclusion.
- The device has configuration options without end. You do not need probably mostly, I find but still great.
Among the criticisms:
- The network connection via Wifi (Fritz box) just does not. Although the wifi antenna flashes, but the app (IcontrolAV5) raises only cryptic error codes and search for firmware updates also does not work over wifi, but only via a network cable. That's just bad. Fortunately, I need the wifi function not necessarily. But who will buy the device because of the wifi functionality, is taking a significant risk. The problems that had its predecessor in this area were obviously not resolved.
- The unit has a large headphone output, which forces me to use an adapter. I think this is completely pointless, but probably there is any high-end headphones, which use, for reasons of product differentiation large plug.
- The front and the regulator are made of plastic. This is simply not so wertig like a metal front and upsets me a bit on. The euro would be quiet still able to invest.
- If I set up my laptop "Playback devices" 5.1, then I can, etc. in the receiver no Dolby ProLogic choose. This can only happen if the laptop is switched to "Stereo". The problem is that most audio and video files have only stereo audio. If the laptop is set to "5.1", which means that when 2-channel sources via the receiver only stereo is get - ProLogic I can not be selected, even though I actually have only 2 channels. ProLogic can select only when I turn the laptop according to the audio material in stereo. This leads then to the fact that I manually each "Playback devices" between stereo and 5.1 must switch back and forth so I can adjust the receiver also ProLogic between games and music / video clips. This is a bit annoying. I would be interested if there are receivers that handle this better. Or there may be players who do the preparation on ProLogic yourself?
Because of these criticisms, there is a star deduction.
