Good Soundbar, but can accomplish (also) no miracles

1. After nearly 1.5 years had my 774 without a word left the service. In itself remarkable, since I previously had three Yamaha Receivers: The first 1991 today potters still in an adjoining room, the second I sold before said half years and never heard from him again (suppose therefore that he even works), only this third halt ... Amazon has certainly withdrawn him generous, but because the model is no longer available, refund the money. So I felt something connected 1. Amazon and 2. faced with the task to create something new.

2. It was not the notorious the forums wife who wanted to have no more cables in the living room, but I myself felt that one could indeed times to grow up. Also, I must, if I'm honest, admit that music and movie enjoyment not depend on the last Zipfelchen high-end with me and bombastic sound effects sometimes not. Since I am also assumed that the 774 was a blip and I continue to trust Yamaha, the brand new YSP was in 2500 also discussed almost euphoric, I ordered it. (Unfortunately, the device was placed around the corner so unkind when acclaimed stationary retailer that you could not seriously try and it consequently was no reason to buy it there.)

3. Delivery perfectly. The device itself looks great (if you like something special form) is apparently wertig processed as the saying goes. The subwoofer makes a total of simple impression, but that may be deceived. Installation, calibration - a matter of minutes. Great.

4. The device is an excellent complement to the television and / or projector. Even the sound effects come - although the room layout is less than optimal with us - well over. However, one needs to know before, that the principle of sound beaming and -Reflektierens only above a certain volume really works. Something must be reflected yes. Borderline in our slightly larger apartment old building. I did not want to test how long the very nice family had been through over us. But even with reduced dynamic (rather then virtual space) is the sound good --- as long as you're sitting right in the area is measured. In short: Unrestricted recommendation as a sound system for TV / home theater, if you want to avoid it, to furnish the room with boxes and cables.

5. As a music system, the device is in my opinion not to use, even if Yamaha - including through the installation of all kinds of audio connections - seems to spread this impression. The sound is - especially in the middle - a bit thin. There is no clear space and - surprising at Yamaha - even a little clarity. That with the bass I have not understood. Sometimes it goes like this, usually it is far too little. (I think the crossover frequency is somewhat high and the subwoofer is expected too much, but is just a feeling - are the experts measure.) Although you get the always somehow controlled by times these enhancers turns here, now another sound program as selected, etc., etc.., but a real treat is that neither classical (choir is incidentally not) even at Pop. And this, in turn, the unit is a bit pricey.

6. So the 777 ordered.
