EDIT: as some had to say reviewer before me, I also had the problem that the boxes too loud even at the lowest settings (eg background music) .. had the windows desktop knob all down here at 1% and the respective player ( Winamp, Media Player, or Flash videos on youtube), I had the regulator also almost to rotate at the bottom to achieve a not unpleasant loud volume - had returned the speakers, therefore,. I switched to the Philips spa2210 and very satisfied!
