I have bought the Harmony 600, because I was looking for an easy-to-use programming and Universalfernbedienug was. At least the second request she met unfortunately in any way.
The installation of the equipment is a bit complicated, but works fine and complete. Individual functions can be individually reprogramming with the original remote control and set to individually selectable buttons. The Logitech database is very extensive. However, you have to expect two to three hours, spread over several days until everything is satisfactory. So far so good.
The problem is the use of the FB (remote control) on the devices. The Harmony 600 is designed for so-called functions. In other words, you press a button, for example, for "television" and the FB on the necessary equipment (TV and Receiver), and sets the TV to the need for an AV input. After the FB is set to Receiver and you can switch the programs.
In theory this works very well. But the devil is in the details. Who you want to change something about the settings on the devices, you have to switch the corresponding device (eg the TV). The same applies if you want to switch from Reciever to DVD or the Wii. For this you have to press on the screen and the menu diverse buttons until you get to the settings for the desired device. This is solved difficult and absolutely unintuitive. Add to that, that can not be switch to German language of the display.
My 12-year-old daughter also comes after a month Harmony 600 is still not so clear. I too am angry every day over the unintuitive task easier. And I am absolutely not technophobic person!
Technically, there are at this FB nothing to complain about. But the operation is easier compared to knitted models far from optimal.
Someone who is looking for a simple and intuitive-to-use universal remote control, I can only advise against 600 of the Harmony. Too bad, I had hoped for the exact opposite of this unit.
