Original recession after the first, defective converter:
I would have used it. For a live image transmission to a photo / video drone That is why the option was interesting to operate the converter without any extra power supply.
Unfortunately, you still requires a 5V power source, then the HDMI signal was picked up at my NEX7, arrived in the area and producing Chinakracherbox - heat. But that was already, on the output side came to no signal, I could not at the monitor of the ground station as well as the tentative connection to the TV image received (the HDMI from the camera arrived, so it was the converter).
Conclusion: Wasted time and money, the manure goes back. Now I have to look elsewhere as I finally get a FPV image to the ground station ...
EDIT - 1/2/2014: Unfortunately, there are not very many mini HDMI / AV converters on the market, especially not with this price / performance ratio. Fullsize converters are well 3 times as large, well-200g heavy and also need an external power supply (at least the NEX7 does not provide enough power to the converter without additional energy supply to operate).
That's why I had to once again "risk" and it had again ordered the same converter. This then went straight away (first test on the TV), now he is fitted for a test operation at the drone. Picture quality is for my purposes enough (it's all about the transfer Live View image to the ground station), the test on the TV quality for everyday use more than adequate seemed (that seem indeed to confirm most of my outpost).
Therefore upgrading to 4 stars because price / performance is good, as the image quality. Only the quality assurance could be some overtime so make defective units the factory did not even leave and annoy customers (I have a good 6 hours of the first defective unit wasted because I thought I would do something wrong Anfags).
