Manufacturing is serious, but we feel a little levity in the finish. It is true that the hatches for accessing the battery or memory card appear quite fragile. This is poorly understood by the manufacturer finish neglect (one star less).
The grip is correct (watch this unit is heavy when it features the 18-135 zoom and more with a 70-300). It is better to have small hands (but that no one chooses) to hold the camera with his right hand because the handle is small and close to the target.
As for the menus and overall ergonomics, there is nothing to say, it is clean and efficient, the controls are in the right place and very clear menus. Everything is possible, from fully automatic, until all manual.
The control panel is his very nice and very bright (too much can be, but it is set). The reflex viewfinder seems to me quite down compared to that of film cameras and manual focus is not helped by the absence on the mirror of a rangefinder or a cut field (one can find mirrors replacement for EOS commercially that have this feature). However, with the device in place, it is possible to sight from the control panel with a x5 or x10 magnification, very useful with big zoom to take pictures of the moon, for example.
The 18M pixels sensor does its job well and for the price, the images obtained with the 18-135 zoom is good bill, with auto focus system (display focus in the viewfinder area) and effective stabilization. The flash seems a little low and to achieve good long-term results, mount the sensitivity. However, even at 3200 ISO, we get little noisy images (see technical tests)
It is worth investing in an infrared remote control, and it is unfortunate that this accessory is not supplied as standard.
In conclusion, a good device which returns two to three times cheaper than its big brother 5D, with the same technical performance, but at the cost of some flats in the finish. Do not use to go barouder in the desert.
