Up to 200 one also has the problem that not every manufacturer Also taken into account everything: time is missing the (already somewhat dated) TOSLINK, which in turn vorraussetzt a good D / A converter in the box set itself.
Or that a wireless remote control is missing, the one or the other might have liked to have.
Thanks TOSLINK and remote control you can use the C2XD for many audio sources and use of all corners of a room: PC via RCA (in my case a Realtek codec 889A) and the Blu-ray player via the optical input.
And then you still have two AUX inputs freely, which may be used.
On 30 square meters room area of the Edifier runs with +3 +3 bass and treble with me. - Depending on your needs, but sometimes you have to experiment with the settings.
Bluray / DVD / CD (optical)
The D / A converter of the Edifier C2XD is probably not highly classical, but my impression is still positive.
Depending on the music genre, Filmtonabmischung and Audio format (Linear PCM, downmix) varies from the sound of good to ok.
Compared to my old Teac XL 20 (heavy and solid 2.1 system that also Edifier far built as "M1380") but has become much better in all aspects of life of the hearing impression. - In the bass range, it mutters voluminous gently to himself, during the mid and high range no longer remains so stuck in / on the speakers.
Philip Glass' "Koyaanisqatsi" (CD) is probably something for the really good equipment, but the organ gets a little foundation, together with height clear whistle. - At the high voices, the system keeps bravely.
Here you notice how clear and resolved the Edifier may sound. In the middle and especially the highs get along well with the vocals to advantage.
The Evangelion 3:33 OST CD sounds excellent, being here classical, electronic and rock are found along with choirs at the same time. - I like the Edifier quite well what I mean.
Susumu Hirasawa, Brian riding Zell's Red Faction Armageddon score and Chris Lennertz Overlord from ME2 DLC make real what her: Clear, room or filling boxes, particularly in the middle and upper tone range. - Hard bass are the system little beloved child, but may as well what brummeln neat if liked (Tron Legacy score).
Whether high violins or electronic art sounds (Jack Walls Collector Fever from ME2) come in stereo really good advantage.
When it comes to DVD / Bluray you some space must naturally win: Dynamic, aggressive, uncompressed multichannel comes pretty swallowed, but this is not surprising.
If the sound in PCM 2.0 before (Fooly Cooly, Kill la Kill), one may try his luck.
Downmix may, depending on the film look quite cinematic, with good language understanding (already a hobbyhorse of Edifier), thunderous but "only" soft bass and quite intrusive sound FX (swirling beating chains ... in the high range of the system artificially pushed up). - Music, however, unfortunately often untergebuttert something where a 5.1 system is likely to have fewer problems here, because there the music is distributed via the Centre.
It is turn up control until the next, crashing sequence requested a handle to the remote control ...
PC (analog)
The Realtek codec is here in good company, and by Dolby feature you can even turn something on bass. - For playing, the system is therefore completely sufficient if 5.1 is dispensable.
Movies and music sound a little better thanks to Dolby Home Theater, because the D / A converter from Realtek 889A is relatively good, the ALC 898 with the separate amplifier chip very well.
Who current, high quality motherboards or a discrete sound card, which can optimize the sound still something.
But I think that audiophiles have their Spielekiste run rather than a much better sound system (Devil and Co).
Klaro, hereby the Edifier C2XD can not compete. ;)
----
A clear case, Edifier tries hard, that everything processed technically clean and seemed well packed. - The 4 feet from the sub and the speakers were all in place, and not geknetscht the tied cord.
Something easily the components already act, and it may be that for a better listening experience something insulation would have incorporated can be. - But as the manufacturer has processed it, it's coming over in the current reviews as well: rather positive.
The small remote control goes from the second stage in order, and the operating ring on the amplifier unit comprises a roughened plastic material together with rubber buttons (FUNC, POWER, INPUT). - Feels good.
Toslink and RCA / TRS are exemplary in the cable. - That's the way it has to be!
In addition, it should be noted that Edifier under relatively good, environmentally friendly working conditions made the most in-house from a single source. - From the wooden body to the board.
Overall, I was convinced the Edifier system:
+ Processing
+ Accessories
+ Well balanced in all registers (price range)
+ Port-diversity (except Bluetooth)
+ Driving gently down to standby and zero current.
+ It will not crack when changing source or turning the volume unit
+ Electronic guard against damage level
+ External amplifier unit = relatively large number of installation options (if the cable or extended ...)
- Something lightweight feel
- Mid and high lifted somewhat artificial
- Hard bass are not there or do not sound after
- 30 square meters have to be enough as a playground
- Cable bit thin, but no need to panic
- D / A converters nothing special
My first Edifier is simultaneously a buy rating for all worth who want something explanatory name, not want to spend a fortune and sonically not expect or BOSE Audio Engine.
Almost everything to 100 against it is cashed to the loose one way or another from Edifier C2XD. Point. - At least, what the total package in terms .;)
