Good with room for improvement

I therefore had yet to invest in a device that consumes more power.
Trotec was the best alternative to price, Dehydrator and power for me.

The unit of Trotec dehumidified space previously reliable and can position itself well from the noise forth.
Unlike my Peltier element dehumidifiers, the device operates with a refrigerant and dehumidify the total package wonderful.

The look in the manual:
Contrary to the manual is no button on the front panel, but a rocker switch on the rear panel.
According to the manual is lit on the front an indicator light red when the device is turned on - unfortunately, that's only half the story, because the indicator is already on when the power cord plugged into the electrical outlet and changes its display not if the device is turned on.

The label for the humidity is not intuitive. With large and small asterisk is used to set the desired humidity range. Here perhaps the Dehydrator from min to max or the indication of the relative humidity would have been better.

The manual is also available from the manufacturer as a PDF, which I welcome.

The humidity sensor reacts slightly delayed, which is advantageous, so that the device does not have to repeatedly start immediately.
Nevertheless, running throughout the time the fan and the switch-on intervals of a few minutes are quite short for my taste.
Here I am going to humidors available at Conrad Electronic 230V TH810HN use which does not respond with small fluctuations and for 30 euros cost saves the häufgen inrush current of the compressor and fan-continuous current.

The dehumidifier makes outwardly a rickety impression through the thin plastic lining. The all-covering consists of at least ten plastic parts. Disturbing (noisy) resonances are preprogrammed and were reducing (13 kg) only by lifting the machine.
Since the device is held together inside with a plurality of screws, which are partially inaccessible, can be difficult to achieve insulation here. At least caused the disassembly / assembly of easily interchangeable body parts less resonance.

The water tank is not provided with a pouring aid, but wisely with a folding carrying handle in the collecting vessel.
The manufacturer sees before a disposal of condensate; I suppose the condensation for watering flowers, because the city water here is rich in lime.

For the device a filter fleece is attached.
This black filter mat holds according to the manufacturer for half a year, although it is not clear whether this refers to fan level 1 or 2.
After this manual filter mat must be replaced after six months - the manufacturer's spare filter mat is however touted as washable.

The filter mat is 21.55 cm wide and 24.5 cm high with a thickness of about 1.5 mm.
The filter mat is a further plastic frame fixed (also 1.5 mm thick) in the filter holder.

Spare filter mat for coarse particles is there to buy for just EUR 10 thousand by the manufacturer, with the search on Google your goal faster results than on the manufacturer's page:

Alternative filter mats there for. Instance as a roll with the dimensions 5 * 1 m, coarse 3mm for 30 Euro. They are not suitable for the device, but to show that the search for a much cheaper alternative worth.

Noise and Power Measurements:

The noise measurements I have at a distance of one meter in height 43 cm performed (even to 8kHz mgl.).

Power consumption in off mode with indicator light about 0.6 watts
Fan level 1: 25.6 W / about 48 dB
Fan speed 2: 28 W / approximately 52 dB
Fan level 1 or 2 with the compressor: about 250 watts at 57 dB

Without compressor (approximately 222 W) I hold a Fan a power consumption of 25-28 watts for declared 180 m² / h on very high.
Without filter mat I could see no appreciable difference.

A way to exchange for a quiet fan, I found yet. But it must be possible to make the device more energy efficient, since there are 150-mm fan for the PC, for example, with such values: Volume: 19 - 23 dB (A) / Airflow:. 64.6 142.7 m³ / h / max. 2.4 W / 0.2 A / MTBF (expected life) of 60 000 operating hours.
This can be experienced with Peltier element in small dehumidifiers. Unnecessary noise by cheap and noisy 80mm fan I could eliminate by sharing and decoupling the ELRO DH250.
This is just thinking out loud - imitation is not recommended! ;)

To replace or refill the compressor with refrigerant is nchts in the manual - here I'm going to contact the manufacturer at the opportunity.

Should I still looking for a dehumidifier, I would definitely opt for Trotec again (and look for ways to modify the unit quieter and more energy efficient)
