Good workmanship, technical defect

Turn the printer on and off conveniently footswitchable - that was my goal. To this end, I ordered the mentioned output plug with foot switch. The delivery was fast and flawless, placed the item in one of these great plastic packaging, which can be opened only by using a pair of scissors, and when you fast tearing his fingers. Well.

The device itself is made clean, the housing is easy and at the same time the stress correspondingly stable. Game does not exist, the cable is firmly seated, and the foot switch is designed according to the application. Only the large housing is a bit disturbing, because it can be placed for example in a power strip not quite as comfortable.

The said power of the switch is 220-240V at 50Hz and 16A.

So why only two stars?
I have the equipment unpacked, plugged in - and it was not working. The printer, the bedside lamp, the Ladegrät the phone and the laptop - all devices, provided that they were already on, receive a fraction of a second current, and are then left completely without power. The scenario repeated itself each time the foot switch. Switched to the devices themselves off and on again without disconnecting the foot switch from the power, then did nothing.

I then sent the device by referring to the technical defect back to the seller. After three days I received the feedback that the device worked correctly in your test environment. According to its description, an external DVD player is connected, repeatedly switched off and on, the access from a PC was possible. I should ask the cost of test and resending on "following account" (which unfortunately did not follow, but had to be found on the website) remit, then I would get the item back.

I was rightly skeptical. I've recovered the device with the same problem, with which I sent it. I have, as well as all electrical outlets and constellations with connector performance tested all sorts of devices in my house. Result: No difference which device, or what place. The instrument provides for a split second current, then it is dead.
For comparison: My printer has a said requirement of 1.6A (10% of the stated capacity of the switch) at normal mains voltage. The other devices were even lower (a bedside lamp eventually consumes even less).

Now I have a machine do what technically is reliable (I have an external DVD player does not, unfortunately, to repeat the test of the seller), and it also must pay the test and the resending. I hope that this device is an isolated case.

Due to the generally good processing I give the two stars - all others I can not give for a device, unfortunately, that does not work.
