CONCLUSIONS: The black / red Garmin Forerunner 220 running computer is a chic Running Watch with large display that looks good even in their free time (can be recognized by the red design elements which runs Ruhr). Did the clock while Amazon without premium heart rate monitor (HR) buy, use my FR 220 while running with heart rate recording but always also separately available Premium HR belt of Garmin. For many tests the Laufuhreigenschaften see my detailed discussion under "FR 220".

Heart beat analysis: without any problems and inconspicuously at Garmin: Garmin is in this technical field now with the Finnish manufacturer Polar, whose specialty was long the heart rate recording and analysis, open on an equal footing.

As a longtime followers and users of Polar heart rate watches (S410 (from 2003), S625X, RCX5) and parallel use of GPS recording with Garmin Running Watches (FR 101, etc.) from 2005 I have since 2011, the heart rate recording only with Garmin Running Watches (610, 220, 620) made. My Running Watch for all training and competitions in 2014 is the Forerunenr 220 (with heart rate measurement). The heart rate analysis is performed at Garmin with the built-in help of the Finnish company Firstbeat. From the heart rate recording and its analysis can "Training Effect (TE)" derived the Garmin on its top running watches indicating (eg, FR 610, FR 620), at the latest models, the 620, this feature - the 220 but not.

Can be controlled the graph of heart rate recording during the run on the Interent pages Garmin under "Garmin Connect" or the Garmin app "Garmin Fit" or "Garmin Connect Mobile".
