For graphics: Beautifully! Really beautiful, the characters look as they should look like and how they came to be known. However, it is a great pity that the dungeons are so incredibly dull. Although each dungeon has its own individual layout, the textures are sharp and hardly one to be confused with another, but within a dungeon, you find yourself barely cope when one is not looking at the map in the top left corner. Every wall, every junction, everything looks just the same. Orientation: None. So it is easy to overlook even a branch if you do not constantly depend on the card and then spend a lot of time unherzuirren long and to seek a way to the next level.
Yes it's true: the dungeons are divided into levels. And in each level looks a dungeon of the same, apart from the opponents. So you run with the story by "World Tree Lv.1" can later pass a boundary and then in "World Tree Lv.2" etc.
Rather monotonous.
For Sound: Class! The music is really great, it fits very often to the game. What surprised me very positively was the fact that in the background of a fight the battle melody sounds suitable for valley-combatants. If one for example with Lloyd traveling, so sounds in battle the typical tune of ToS. Many are reminded here of great gaming experiences. However, I must say that to me after several hours of work at a determined location (eg, the World Tree), the new TOTW music quite comes on his nerves. It is yet unobtrusive, and just 5 minutes break I remember hardly at it ... just like the other new songs. They are in fact almost all: Inconspicuous.
For Synchro: Yes, the game has a synchro. And even a pretty good. But there's a catch: Up to Kratos (ToS) almost none of the original Tales Charas has his familiar voice kept (it seems to me anyway; I let myself also teach: P). There are many "Skits", so conversations of Charas with matching manga avatar that were really highlighted great vocally. As I said, Kratos does his job excellently, and indeed the other such as Lloyd sound used to, seem to me still quite professionally.
To combat Sound: Well. The attacks of Charas are distinctively backed by her voice, you know immediately who is attacking grade (or is attacked), but: They are too monotonous. The only thing the self-created Chara are by themselves, are about three or four different attack cries. The annoying over time rather when the Chara to five hundredth time "The !!" call listening ...
The original Tales charas back its typical attacks with the related announcements (Tales diehard players know that: "Demon Fang!", "Tiger Blade", "Havoc Strike!" And so on). Not all do that but also ... Luke makes it rather like the example Costum-Chara.
The Jobs: Once you start the game, you have, as I said, the opportunity to choose the "job" of Charas. Initially, only four, namely: Warrior (high attack), Thief (quickness), Mage (magic damage zufügende) and Priest (healing magic etc.). The choice of class influenced simply the status values learnable attacks and the items that you can equip. Some quests also can be denied only with certain classes.
With the progress of season six more jobs come to bring all their own skills with them or some kind confluence of two different classes form (for example Magic Knight: combination of Warrior and Mage). If (after a long time) you are able to change jobs, the Costum-Chara is downgraded to Lv.1. The previous job is saved, however, so you can resume his old class to the old terms - was it as Warrior on Lv. 60, it is then again.
For quest system: Those who know Final Fantasy Tactics, can the next paragraph read. For everyone else here a short description:
The quest system form the foundation of the story; One assumes quests, closes it off and receives money and "fame points" (in the game "Fame" called). There are fundamentally the same as known from other RPGs structure as: "the course from A to B, there to get the great object of their way to let you in C, etc."
Unfortunately, the only places where you can really move freely, the dungeons and the houses of the cities. For all other places like the world map and the cities applies: Press in a direction to be in a second at the selected location. There is no free walkable city with secrets, let alone a walk world map! On this point, TOTW differs markedly from his "colleagues".
In each of the three (at the beginning of first a) cities, a so-called "Guild" house is located. Here you can accept quests or change jobs. What quests you can take, decide the "Fame" items. High fame = Harder jobs. Furthermore, can be found in every city an "Inn", where one ... no, it can not be healed - namely that happens automatically when you enter a town! No, you can choose his party members in an Inn. Anyone who wants to join the party and who is not, depends on its fame level and on the other hand of the relationship with the selected Chara from. Contrary to him in the skits often, it makes quite angry ... and you can see, where to stay! So always be beautiful nice ^^
For Over Limit: Yes, they do exist. Mystic Artes (Devastating special attacks)! Each Original Tales character from Lv. 45 his own. Lloyd uses the Over limit to the known "Falcon's Crest" while Reid prefer wraps his opponents with "Aurora Wall" in a sea of flames. The Chara learns his own (depending on the class) Mystic Arte only once you have to learn every technique used at least 50 times. That is until Lv. 55 to 58 of the case. The Mystic Artes be activated for each exception Chara in the same way: In Over Limit use a strong special attack and hold X.
Change this: Unfortunately practically zero. Very bad: There are no anime pictures with the face of exporting Charas shown when you run a Mystic Arte, as was customary otherwise.
So you now runs through the game, done a quest here, trained as a little bit until you precludes Obermotz in the final battle. One can definitely him alone to face, but it is advisable to take a few Tales Charas to help ^^
Where I've added my almost at the end, would be extremely long review (Sorry for that, but in less detail does not get any, if you want to reproduce a clear impression of the game;)).
It's incredibly funny, old friends to move through Terresias Dungeons and cold shut a few opponents. Which Tales fan has never wished, even to stroll along with Reid, Lloyd and Luke as a four-swordsman group through the country? The variation possibilities here are enormous.
"Should I now prefer to work with a balanced group, or at least take three Mage and a swordsman?"
In this regard, the game is just fantastic.
I think it is also good that the Tales characters have retained their own special attacks, here it behaves just like the Mystic Artes: No major changes. In my opinion: great!
The items that can be found on his journey are also remained the same. From Black Onyx on Rapier to Talisman: more. However, one can with everything you will equip only his own Chara. The other charas remain "naked".
So now I'm really at the end. My conclusion yet:
Those who buy the game, it will absolutely not regret. It's fun, is often varied (apart from the story -.-) has great music, a great Synchro, a super combat system with simple controls, well highlighted characters and a really good graphics.
As a Tales fan, clear: Buy!
For all others: Dear another Tales Adventure (my recommendation: Tales of Symphonia) first play, otherwise many gags and the valley-Charas relationships between them are not clear.
That's all from my side, thank you for reading my review for Tales of the World: Radiant Mythology!
