I was looking for a good addition to my 70D. Large lenses are indeed great to specify but impractical. The 70D has been the advantage that it is very good ausgestatet and is built quite compact.
Since I already own the 50mm, the 40's Pancake was not an option, as there is hardly difference in the focal length. And then the 24er Pancake was presented. I've looked at and bought immediately.
The picture is absolutely in order and let his weaknesses be corrected easily. The Bokeh I find very pleasant. The macro possibilities are great, though not typical for this focal length.
I can transport my 70D with the pancake in a very compact Cullmantasche which I am very pleased. I got my camera like always.
What bothers me and a perfect score keeps:
- MF is somewhat cumbersome and inaccurate
- STM engine is not quite so quiet (for whatever reason)
- A little smaller aperture than <2.8 would enable the more sensitive AF sensor in the 70D AF is more reliable in dark conditions with the cheap 50 f1.8
