Scope of supply:
Camera with holder, 2 replacement adhesive pads for mounting, car charger, USB data cable, orig. Manual in English. and an Asian language, and a color printout or a color copy of a german manual !!! :( and a microSD -. USB adapter !!!
Delivery throughout sufficient for installation and operation. A memory card must always be bought as an accessory separately. So also here not there. Extra good I find the spare adhesive pads, if I ever buy a new car, the windscreen must be changed, or other circumstances occur. And the MicroSD - USB adapter I find a super addition, simple but it works.
Packing:
Sturdy cardboard, well-fitted, small parts in separate plastic bags, on the camera screen a film. A film I would have liked on the lens and the cardboard could be 50% flat :( and save paper.
First impression, processing:
Housing and holder made of plastic, however, neatly processed accurately and overall consistency. does not give the impression of fast and cheap, not high-end with metal housing, but good upper midfield. The camera has a Micro-USB, a HDMI and an AV connector, and an's slot for a Micro SD card. Dar holder has another micro USB port, I'll get it back when you install yet.
Installation:
Holder is simply glued to the disc. Where exactly, everyone must decide for himself. The proposal in the operating instructions "behind the rearview mirror" turns out to be useful. The camera can be rotated vertically on the holder 90 °. Thus, the camera angle to the road (from the bonnet to the sky) is independent of the windshield slope, properly adjusted.
Since the holder is a bit on the side of the camera and can be attached only to one side is a shame. I would like the camera pushed from the other side into the holder. Now to me is always the rear-view mirror holders in some way :(.
The cable to the vehicle socket must lay any type of vehicle itself. Here I would have liked some adhesive or Klemmklips making it possible to carry out at the wafer edge along the cable :(. Even the connecting the cable to the machine caused short doubt. It indicates the camera directly a mico-USB port and the holder is still a second such connection. After looking at the manual and its own consideration, the connection made to the holder out to be correct. The cable thus remains neatly routed even if the camera is removed from the vehicle. The micro USB connector on the camera is for the USB data cable to the PC.
Settings / Menu:
Here's a quick read of the manual is necessary. There are 4 buttons. One for "high", one for "Down", the two are self-explanatory. An "OK" button, which is not to confirm, but the menu call (short press) and menu-forwarding on (3 second printing). This is also between video camera and looking, switched through. The 4 key is not so obvious. It is on the left side of the camera center of the round. It confirms settings by 3 seconds pressure and turns on and off the device.
The menu itself is quite extensive, but well structured and clearly. There are 4 submenus. In the first are camera settings. Here things can as recording quality, loop duration will set etc. Next you will find such things as exposure, contrast, ISO value. Since I have almost everything on automatic left (here you will also find digital effects such as sepia, B / W or negative. For CAR DVR really great). In the third menu basic settings such as language (also German), formatting or factory settings. In the last menu timezone, GPS and Speed Limit can be set.
Generel find your way around and also has the buttons out right fix properly. You can sometimes press the wrong button, but then you go again to the menu and this time confirm with on / off. Most of the settings you make once at the beginning and that's it.
Private:
Since there is not much to say, the camera turns on when the ignition is turned on or when the attention moves slightly (according to the settings). The display switches off accordingly. Bottom right of the display is a LED lamp that lights during operation Red-Purple-Blue. In the manual is about nothing :(, must probably be normal. However, this right flash LED bothers me when driving in the dark :(. I have created here with a black Edding remedy.
Images / evaluation:
The internal memory of the camera, the GPS Movie Player Install.exe is included. Unfortunately, with me working the installation from there on my computer not :(. Did have to copy the file on my computer only, and then it worked. The program works is quite simple and clear and can be explained almost entirely himself. It shows in addition to the film also speed, driving direction compass, Fahrrute in a Google Maps window and G-forces (important for accident) by invited files. Only a full-screen mode, I could not find.
The video itself (I use recording quality "very high") are of pretty decent quality. What bothers some, are occurring particularly at the edge of round-distortion. However, this is caused by the high angle of view near the small optics. This can be difficult to detect in front fender benders on the vehicle corners details (faces, license plates). But hey, if one smokes in the car from the side to me, he's not on the Cam.
For sound, I can not say I'll take not to. This saves space and my conversations in the car I do not need to record.
Conclusion:
The device costs about 130 euros. The price, however, is perfectly fine. Good, powerful camera delivers usable shots, what should be the acquisition of basic yes. In addition, it has many functions and settings, makes a solid and decent impression, bringing sufficient equipment to operate with. Negative are only the annoying flash LED and the non-variable input / out direction of the camera in the holder. Thus 4.3 stars from me.
