Great combination of tablet and notebook

For me, this switch combines the very qualities that I like. On the one hand I have a tablet with a large screen (12.5 inches), I can easily control via contact with the fingers - on the other hand I have the normal surface of a notebook. In other words, I'm not like a Tablet otherwise dependent on apps, but can work with the normal Windows interface. Here we come for me to an area not so well known - so far I could always bypass Windows 8 namely, that I get to only now to sit down with this system apart and can not tell much about it. Mostly I turn on the normally known Windows interface, and let the app view sidelined - the changes determined by the time, but now at the beginning I'm still very skeptical. But since I know that the deal can not be, I just take it as an incentive to address it to sit down now.

But first of all to build. If you unpack it, it lies flat when folded - the display is on top. If you open it up, as a pedestal comes to light, the keyboard is attached by means of magnetic snapper. This can now be easily solved and either the front clip it to the base to write - or even just use that. This variable seems to be very nice. Mostly I use it clipped, because then the base has somehow more stability, but it does not necessarily have. Incidentally clipped behind the keyboard does not charge by means of three contact points, front.

Of course, the switch fits in together folded position (rear mounted keyboard) completely enclosed in the bag! What bothers me a little, that no place for the charging cable is because that I take with me when I take the switch. Here an extra bag or anything that I can connect with the main bag had really liked me. Since the bag simply contains the space for the switch, you can not even put a screen-cleaning cloth inside. What also bothers me personally is something that the display is exposed when the switch is folded because it is indeed up. I actually have in my a pressure point, which is caused by seemingly to push hard. That was already the very first start so, it was so delivered so. And I find that very unfortunate that it seems to be so vulnerable. Blessing in disguise, it's a small place and in a corner and so interfere with the operation not a bit, warns a yet again that the surface is apparently not so insensitive as one plays to the optics.

So I use the normal view (not the app view of Windows 8) and have installed the most important things for me ... such as the Web browser. And just here I find the mixture of the device awesome .. I scroll through the pages like a tablet, but the lyrics write normally on the keyboard. Yes I know for tablets, there are external keyboards ..

Incidentally, you can switch between the two views (regular or app interface) change not only on the surface, but also with a manual switch on the side. So everyone should come as soon as possible to their preferred view.

The keyboard itself is easy to operate, it reminds me a bit of the keyboards of laptops, flat and quiet at the ready. The numbers are to be used only on the normal bar, a numeric keypad, there are not. Arrow keys located on the bottom right of the keyboard. But you can also completely dispense with the keyboard and use it as a tablet, the screen keyboard.

In normal everyday use while surfing everything works perfectly. The screen layout is fast, the view is clear and sharp. The colors are very beautiful. However, the glass screen is very prone to mirror lungs, so that some light sources but can reflect badly. This disadvantage also have unfortunately all Tablets and many laptops, so that one is actually used to it.

I have so far not elaborate games trying to look at how the switch behaves .. simply because I never play such games and also do not own. So I can not comment.

The sound I find absolutely unacceptable, I've already seen movies about the Switch (online) and it worked perfectly, and the sound was clear and easy to understand - both with and without headphones. Even with music, I can not find anything negative, but I sit here and just normal standards and need no great sound experience, so I can not judge how it is for people who place it very high value!

There is indeed 1 USB port, here I would have found a second very nice.

In the middle of the keyboard (surrounded by the G, H, B and N keys is a small button that is to be used as a mouse .. my case, it is not necessarily because I use prefer the touch controls on the display, but it is possible.

What you should bear in mind, is the fairly high weight. At least when compared to a tablet. It weighs incl. Keyboard according to my scale 1407 gram. Compared to the notebook, however, it is easier. For me an advantage also, I can leave it on the lap during use, without me having to constantly pay attention as the notebook that the air vents are free. Also, it is during normal operation is not as hot as a notebook.

The battery life is of course entirely depends on what I'm doing so. However, it can also be easily operated with a mains plug.

Conclusion:
I am absolutely delighted with the switch. Because it combines all the positive features of a tablet and a notebook together. It is flexible in its lineup - collapsed only a classic tablet or unfolded with pedestal in two variants, with keyboard as a counter support or even for free use. With great display and excellent sound. It is lighter than a laptop, and thus easier to take away, however, has all the necessary programs that you usually only find the notebook and not the tablet. Since I have the device, tablet and notebook are unused in the closet. For me it was the absolute combination, after I've always wanted!
