For device:
My last unit was a Samsung Galaxy SI, which I still have, too. So I can keep both devices simultaneously in your hand and realize: Damn, as Nokia has done a great job. The processing makes a very good, very solid impression. The gaps in the existing columns hardly agree completely and I can discover no shortage.
The weight I feel as positive and pleasant, the size also (have decided due to the size of the 820 and 920 against).
The display is often referred to as a major weakness. I can not see for my use no disadvantage which brings the fairly low resolution with them.
In addition, I am a friend of the rich colors of the OLED display. It responds very well and accurately. To set the sensitivity high, you can actually use the device while wearing gloves. I feel myself as a nice feature, with the can advertise well. For everyday use my machine was too expensive lie to hold it with gloves - with bare hands but it has a better grip. So I use only the normal display sensitivity, which is perfectly adequate and probably saves battery power.
Battery:
Currently the device is for 21 hours from the cable. On the last night the internet was shut down for 6 clock is activated. I surfed for about 15 minutes with 3G, otherwise I used only 2G. I phoned about 15 minutes, written five SMS, a few text messages and e-mails (3 accounts that check for new mail every 15 minutes) and get read and used the device for a number of settings for 20 minutes otherwise. The battery claims to still have a residual capacity of 82%.
Now I could go into all the details, or simply sum up by saying: great piece of hardware! I have no serious criticism.
Windows Phone 8:
Getting used to I find the operating system. I do not want to mention, since there are now times only with WP8.
As a former Android users I am used to some features that are missing now me:
- I do not like noise, which is why my phone is silent in the rule. Switching from "silent + vibration" to "silently without vibration" requires a trip to the settings menu (with Android, there was a click on the volume button)
- The alarm clock can be controlled in terms of the volume does not really. To me it's too loud. After all, he wakes as reliable.
- The notification bar of Android is missing something. Missed calls, emails, SMS, however, displayed in the Lockscreen. In addition then to the live Tiles is unlocked screen.
- The app-diversity in Windows Phone 8 is not to be compared with Android.
However, these negative points to change in a matter nothing: since I have this device, I know what is a logically structured and liquid running operating system.
With Android, I had, for example always some stuttering and hangers, also with the SGSI what so now the time was not a low-end device. And these interruptions I had whether I took the original firmware or how recently a 4.1 Custom ROM.
WP8 running. Point.
I am confident that some will do in the App Store and also think that Microsoft itself is still stoking an update and some features will add.
And even if this is not the case: I'm happy, I'm happy. On some things I need to get used to, but that's probably after each change that.
I realize that I can not write all-encompassing review due to my use and also that my criticisms are completely irrelevant for some of WP8.
But it is my feeling, it is my opinion and maybe she helps someone.
