Why did the "Ectaco jetBook Lite" decided, rather than for the Sony PRS 505 hochbeworbenen or the successor with touchscreen, the Sony PRS 600? The answer is as simple as brilliant: o)
First of all. Where is the difference between the jetBook Ectaco jetBook Lite and the Ectaco
There are two different device models and two different prices. The "jetBook" (expensive) has an MP3 player and is powered by a Li-battery (rechargeable) and is generally supplied with a protective cover and a charger.
The "jetBook Lite" (cheaper) uses normal AA batteries - 4 piece and is therefore a little heavier and a cover.
The operation is very simple and it actually comes from without manual. Only the side buttons appear a not immediately clear at the moment, but then you can see in the manual always again.
What I SUPER FIND, which is the Ectaco jetBook Lite has a nice clear contrast and above all, what I was most important and what the Sony devices has let drop out, the device scrolls to easily and above all without loss of color.
What is meant when one turns the pages in a 600 Sony PRS with touchscreen, the screen lights up briefly to black to be white again, so that you recognize the signature. That bothered me very badly. Touchscreen or not, you do not need.
The nice thing about the jetBook Ectaco Lite is especially it does not matter if you're reading in portrait mode or in landscape mode, you have the scroll and Umblättertasten sitting anywhere according to where they make sense. So if I do the unit (times please visualize) in normal mode in portrait orientation in the left hand did. Then I can with the thumb on the left edge of the device attached (one sees hardly) slider actuated srollen order. And also I can use your thumbs to the bottom left attached "Umblättertasten" to use. But I can take the right hand to help and browse with the buttons on the right side.

Nice gimmick, but unnecessary. I personally invite prefer EPUP and Mobipocket files down, because these are the most compatible with the font sizes.
This can indeed change and PDF formats I then often the problem is that the site is still too big and I do not just simply scroll down, but also scroll to the right. I find that disturbing. But to not go too :)

My advice before you buy you an e-book reader, looking either at times "youtube" purely because there are plenty of videos where the equipment will be demonstrated or goes into a store and test it. Everyone has different priorities and what bothers one, the other must not disturb long.
My conclusion: I find this eBook readers just great (and I have the Sony PRS 600 also previously tested) and am glad that I have this taken here. I had him. Unfortunately only in black but color is actually beside the point
And at various party developers you will also have plenty of free e-books in addition to the fee :)
Oh, and one more thing: At first I thought only ... Hm ... the Batterieausbuchtung (although it is now not so huge) on the rear panel is surely disturbing that Sony devices are flat like a book. But people, on the contrary, it has proved to be an advantage even when holding the E-Books. This Batterieausbuchtung leaves the eBook super in your hand, whether portrait or landscape orientation.
