Other comments sometimes criticize certain poins, here's my opinion.
- Consumables for this printer: we find them at a very reasonable price (50-60 all) when looking around. For those who think that being the same price as the new printer, so replace all ... This is not the right approach! The cartridges provided with the printer are never fulfilled 100%. Here, the manufacturer has had the good sense to indicate an estimate of prints on the printer box: about 600 pages for game cartridges provided.
In comparison, separately purchased cartridges have a stated capacity of about 2000 pages ... 3 times more! The calculation is quickly made!
- Noise: indeed, the power, the machine is running, initializes, for a few minutes and makes some noise (mechanical bearings and internal fan). But after that, it will make more noise! And printing (which is really fast) the generated volume is very correct. My old Canon made more noise than that.
- Print Quality:
In normal mode for documents, quality is top (between inkjet and laser) without the glossy effect of the laser, and especially VERY fast!
In photo mode (max tested quality glossy photo paper) colors lack a little intensity (mostly black). But the record remains honest.
For my part I have long since abandoned printing photos at home, as rates of online photo printing sites are low, and in the end it is cheaper than printing at home ...
The EcoPrint mode is very interesting: the documents are printed using only 50% of ink, suddenly black is rather gray, but the impressions remain accurate and legible! So it is really ideal for "temporary" impressions that eventually the garbage ...
Connectivity: oh yes, no, no USB cable supplied. But it is the case with many printers now ... At the same time, I recovered one of the old printer that is part recycling :)
I did not test the function of network printing.
Final opinion: I am very pleased with this purchase.
The icing on the cake, it would be to have this printer with WiFi functionality, and integrated Scanner for 30-50 more ... Ricoh, if you hear me!
