Upon receipt I have connected and found the hard drive:
- Virtually Silent, almost inaudible
- Works perfectly on my computer with Windows XP, Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12:10
Now after 4 months and occasional use of the hard drive, I note
- The hard drive is no longer recognized, in any of my three operating systems
- Actually a Grantiefall, but who sends his already personal information to unknown recipients
- Therefore thinks for a moment and the warranty seal is removed and open the housing
- Comes to the fore a tidy Inners with plug connections, looks very clean
- Seagte Barracuda HDD 3000GB, SATA with 7200 U / min and firmware CC4B
- I have removed the hard drive from the housing and connected via a USB adapter to your computer
- Result: hard disk is detected, system reports but I have to reformat. All my data is gone. Annoying!
- Then again incorporated into the Trek gates and the hard drive is not recognized again
- Conclusion: Error must be within the Trek goals housing and not on the Seagate hard drive.
I forgive two stars because the concept and design is actually coherent. But the durability leaves much to be desired.
Now I access a competitor and will try my luck there.
