Now I have sobered up the phone a month in my possession and am:
The phone impresses with its hardware, but loses all charm with its operating system and the lack of ability to install apps from the Play Goals.
Although Amazon advertises its 240,000 apps in their store, but missing a lot of apps that are not only known each previous iPhone or Android user, but to make even a little helpers in everyday life the previous phone.
When the Customer recommendation was given to me, download the missing apps PlayStore and install them via sideload. Said. Done. Unfortunately, this approach works only partly because many apps rely on the Google Play services, but which unfortunately can not be installed.
Apps that I have been in regular use and that do not run on the fire phone:
- Threema
- Touch & Travel
- BVG (Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe)
- Öffi (easy to install, but do not start)
- Bank Apps
- ADAC
- MyTaxi (nationwide taxi app)
There are other apps that I have found but comparable products on the Amazon App Store.
CONCLUSION:
I need a second phone to look as usual, if my bus is late, be able to buy tickets, to communicate with other people, to order me a taxi, or to look at what the account says.
For much money I have now unfortunately a device with which I can make calls though, which otherwise only has a very limited value ....
