The difference to the "normal" halogen bulbs is more than clear; the light is much cooler / white (not blue!), and looks considerably brighter.
Addendum 06.11.2015: Now with me the first lamp is defective; Operating time grossed about 400 hours. Everybody has to decide for itself whether the better illumination of the lower life he is aktzeptabel for the price.
