Haptics: Outside the HTC has a plastic frame, which is but the front closed by the Gorilla Glass 3 and back by aluminum - everything seemed high in everything and is well built. The feel is very pleasant. Although the phone has a "Klopper" really, it is very comfortable to hold - only for your pocket, it is almost too big. The controls (on / off) and high / low are on the right side - the Speaker as it is known from the HTC One front upper and lower (or left and right :-)). The device weighs 221 grams, which is a lot - almost twice as much as the HTC One mini and much more than the Sony Xperia Z1 (170) - but if you want a large display, which must take up in order to purchase :-) insert SIM card or micro SD card, you have to open the back, but there is an easily accessible slide switch on the side.
Addendum to feel after a few days use: the aluminum cover on the back can not be used well after a short time and is on a corner a little from about 1/3 mm. I want to pull it all no star, but for a phone in this price range that is not actually befitting.
Display:
The measuring 1920x1080 Super LCD 3 display with 5.9 inches is awesome! Excellent illumination, good contrast optimal colors - it's fun with this mobile phone to work. The touch screen responds instantly and resets all signals to reliably. When you look from the side of the phone, the view is even better than I know it from the Xperia Z1 or the LG G2 - can be seen from almost 180 degrees actually everything on the screen - top notch. In my view, this phone is with this display for real gamers phone, because on such a large and good screen makes it easy even more fun! Even internet surfing is fun, yet the mobile phone is quite a bit smaller than the usual 7 inch tablets.
Internal:
HTC has unfortunately gesprat the processor slightly, instead of the current 600 Snapdragon 800 has been installed, the "only" 1.7 GHz and 2 GB RAM brings, instead of 2.26 at 800 Snapdragon (the LG G2 or Xperia Z1). But honestly, I can see it in practice nothing - the performance is liquid, and games are running optimally (I always compare based on Riptide GP2 and the game is on the very good display and also very good sound really fun). The internal memory is in my version with 16 GB, 11 of them are available - which is quite decent and thankfully can be the first to extend by Micro-SD - up to 64GB - there do not come as fast court problems. And ... of course, the mobile WIFI and LTE-capable.
Photo: After I'm a bit disappointed by the HTC One mini, makes the HTC One max at least in daylight everything good again! The camera is very, very good when enough light is there. She works with 2688x1520 pixels and Ultra generated in daylight optimal images - a digital camera does not need more human. Macro shots are starting a distance of 5 cm razor sharp - better values I've found in any mobile phone. The shutter lag is excellent fast - only drawback: There is no external trigger, but you always have to start the Photos app. In darkness, there is a little trouble with the auto focus, which obviously then nothing will, on which he can orient himself. My test photos are sometimes not very sharp, but overall also of good quality - but takes in the dark, the shutter lag significantly and the photo is shot 1.5 seconds after pressing the shutter button.
Videos are recorded in full HD, but works here autofocus partly not optimal - the videos are slightly out of focus in particular at close range and also the exposure here is not optimal, the videos are a bit dark.
Audio: Even this HTC has the proven Boom Sound and comes to Super - acoustics are very well reproduced and the bass is good from the two speakers left and right of the display - I realize that games on this part still a corner more be fun as have the smaller devices, the "only" about 5 inches and poor speaker.
Battery: RESPECT. 3300 mAh is the best thing there is currently, Xperia Z1 and LG G2 bring 3000 mAh on the scale, which was already good. Of course, the display also sucks orderly energy, but so far I have not been able to consume more than 10% battery per hour - to get to a total of 9-10 hours full advantage - that's great for such a powerful phone. Charging is unfortunately only via microUSB at the bottom (and not wireless) - but then in about 5-6 hours. As long as such a battery just needs to be full. Incidentally, there is no really smart software pre-installed, the sense regulates the battery consumption, you can only individual functions on and off, and data connections caps. Nothing spekatkuläres because there would be more, but at the powerhouse you need probably just do not ...
... Oh yes: Telephone: Goes well :-)
Besides WIFI and LTE with reliable reception offers mobile GPS / GLONASS with good function in the open air - in rooms also at the window.
As an added feature, the HTC One max, incidentally, a fingerprint scanner, which allows you to unlock the phone as well. One can think of this function, what you want, but it works very well here and relatively quickly - is pleasant that you can choose whether you want to then directly launch a particular app. That means you can shorten the path for example in the Photos app, by specifying that it should start automatically when you unlock with your finger. Important: You must still always betäätigen on the side and "wipe" the on / off button.
My Conclusion:
Very good and especially large mobile. The display is fantastic and beats the competition - together with the excellent sound, this phone is made as to the consumption of media or games. The camera could be better is in daylight but also very respectable - whom the camera for photos and videos is particularly important, but is perhaps better off with the Xperia Z1. Android 4.3. is unspectacular ... at first glance hardly changes to 4.2.2. The battery is full of power - but the needs of this bolide evenly also. 9-10 hours full use in it, ranging from all - Summing up the developments of the batteries in the current mobile phones (Z1, LG G2), the battery problems of the past seem to be forgotten. Who does not shrink from the price that will have a lot of fun on this device! I take a star off because I like a little better would have had the camera at this price - but otherwise a chic part!
