I have so far mainly made snapshots with mobile phone cameras and uses an older Olympus digital SLR for the higher claims.
I was looking for a camera that is not quite as big and heavy as the SLR, but still can shoot great pictures and with which it is also possible to "turn" reasonably acceptable to videos.
Unlike the SLR, which invites to play and from the outset, manually configure the environment, I wanted to leave me on what the unit adjusts automatically with this camera.
Nor do I find that I thus abusing the camera or you do wrong, for if they do not (also) intended for such use, it could also leave the manifold scene modes and fully automatic. This camera is unique not only for professionals or people who think of themselves as such, but also for those like me thought. If you can afford them.
The photos, which makes this camera, are usually entirely convincing for me. Where they are not convincing, the environment is dark and the picture without flash use in automatic mode bright as day. But that's not a problem of the camera, but the misuse thereof. In this respect, I would have had to notice the quality of the pictures nothing but enthusiasm, if I had not already read other reviews where the auras around light sources should be noted. Also I have noticed this on my photos, and I have no setting found in which they can be avoided. They are always there. One can find bad or not. I think it's not so bad.
The autofocus, through its diverse uses you may read elsewhere, convinced me always. I have had so many blurred images in the past that it for me a main joy was to see how I was able to capture many, many well-lit and wonderfully sharp images of briefly visible mines at a sparingly lit dinner party at a long table, without shaking also widely zoomed. That makes a lot of fun, and it's worth the money.
ie pictures are - by my standards - incredibly quickly captured and stored. One can in a few seconds can make several tens burst, choose the best results from it. This is for someone who often does not hit the right moment, a lot of value.
The camera fits comfortably in your hand and has a pleasant weight. Several times already I'm scared half to death, as the autofocus stopped working. But that was never a defect of the camera, but always came along that had moved the little lever below the lens when in-the-pocket-insertion or re removing the setting manual focus.
The manual focus I began to appreciate when I started to make videos. The fun you have but when switching to manual focus: The audio signal is picked up in a very acceptable quality and in Stereo and reproduced relatively authentic. Since the camera has a video function now time, I think that they should be similarly well equipped as the photo function. This is clearly not the case. I can not say much about the durability. Neither I dropped the device for testing purposes or thrown, nor have I left it lying in the scorching sun, to test its thermal stability. With proper care, it makes for the first few months the impression that it would last forever.
I am completely satisfied with this camera when it comes to photos. The video function is available, but can not replace a decent video camera. For example, some small and cheaper, however, already.
