There are relatively soft pastels that can be smudged good, but also allow for highly detailed drawing. They are clearly softer than the Pitt pins of Faber Castell, are too hard for my taste.
Even the colors of her, I can recommend Stabilo:
very well pigmented, strong colors, light-fast (note this on every pen!) and be mixed with water. On Pastelmat as signs basis even over soft pastel layers well suited for use (also white).
For this, a very good range of gray tones (a total of 11 different ones!) And earth colors.
I tip the pins with the supplied short cone sharpener, but not quite, but take sandpaper in case I need a really fine tip. (Addendum: I recently also pointed to the Spitzer very pointed and far it works without a pin would be canceled!)
Of course, the pins can be combined with all other manufacturers, I also individual pastels Derwent and Caran d'Ache. All have their merits and there are always times a color that can be found only at a manufacturer.
But with Stabilo one is sure well equipped for the most extreme things.
