I confirm the comment Raymond. You can boot from this card. I do not use the drivers of the manufacturer, which bugged my house, but the standard Windows drivers that work very well. Based on an old motherboard Gigabyte GA-MA770-DS3 on a PCIE x1 slot, I could connect a hard drive Crucial MX100 256 and up to 350 MB / s read (measured CrystalDislMark 3) and 300 MB / s writing. 350 MB / s, it is less than this disc can reach (over 500MB / s) but it's better than the original SATA 2 of my motherboard. I bought this card following an ATAPI errors displayed occasionally in my event viewer (event 11), not to achieve a higher transfer speed. Unfortunately, I still have this error, so I have to continue to investigate (cables, motherboard, my disk is ok).
