Rancor Pit:
75005 Rancor Pit, that's the official name of the Star Wars sets of Lego. It concerns with this set to the famous dungeon under Jabba's palace, known from Episode VI. The set itself is a medium-sized set, priced it is in the upper middle range, where the value for money is perhaps not justified here 100%. But if you check it on the price of time it is found that there is a great set at the Rancor Pit. The structure designed thanks to the detailed instructions and the numbered bags quite simple and goes really fast and problem going out of hand, almost a bit too easy you might think. But okai, one a beautiful set has at least after about 30 minutes standing before him, in which much good stuff waiting for a. It includes for example the 3 Minifigures Luke Skywalker, a Gamorrean Guard and the guard of the rancor, Malakili. When Luke and the guards is a revised or new figure. Also completely new is the monster, the Rancor. Long Lego has taken his time and let the beast in the older palace just completely gone. That will not happen in order finally plays the Rancor in a known scene in the film a big role. But Lego has this lack now well done and developed a really successful Monster and added to the set. The Rancor is cut his original from the movie like from the face. In addition to its size of about 3 minifigures cattle inspired by his great mobility (arms, fingers, pine). In the big mouth, a figure can be accommodated and can be eaten by the Rancor. The dungeon itself also has some nice details, so there is a hidden compartment, where the key is hidden to Wärtertor, on the other hand there is a hiding place in the rocks for Luke or Gamorrean Guard. Through the skeleton also contained the dungeon gets a nice touch of horror: D. And that really no one can escape from the dungeon, there is still a large portcullis, which can be both fixed firmly in the open and closed state. All in all, the set quite a nice selection of features, details and figures and is thus also the (somewhat expensive) good value for money. Especially if you have the set 9516 Jabba's Palace, which I still am now ...
Combined with Jabba's Palace 9516:
Properly hammer, I find that the Rancor Pit can be perfectly combined with the palace of Jabba. For this, the top of the pit small spikes attached, which is perfect 4 holes in the bottom of the palace fit. Thus, a large 2 sets. Basically really a great thing, because so really can just about anything readjust from the scenes in Jabba's home. However, there are positive and negative points that I would like briefly.
-positive: Quite clear advantage goes to the play and fun factor if you want to give a child the two sets. The two sets fit together super, everything works perfectly rounded. Even the look makes the combo basically correct what ago, but ...
-negative: ... Through the combination of the two sets losing a few things or its meaning can not be used. For example, hovering the tower of the palace, which indeed serves as entrance to the palace inside, just in the air, when the palace is on the pit. Here you would have something to think and perhaps can beipacken a few extra rocks parts, so that the tower is not hanging in the air but is on the rocks. Furthermore, can the portcullis in the dungeon not open as long as the palace is on him. A pity, because this function should already be available in a dungeon. However, there is a way to both the problem with the floating tower as well as the problem with the grid to solve. Namely, there is the opportunity to fold away the portcullis aside. Thus, one can hinklappen it so that both the tower partially has a (solid) state and is no longer floating, and the grid can be pushed to open back up. The optimum, although it is still not, but at least a way to improve the problem. Finally, I can only say that the two sets for itself are already super, be by combining but only to something whole. So it is really worth it to invest in both sets, if one has one of the sets envisaged or already has.
Finally, I give my clear recommendation and 5 stars for the Rancor pit as well as for the final product of two sets. I hope the review was a help. LG, your Mario;)
