I use Dan Tracker combined with a Motorola Motox the first generation, ie Android operating system.
In principle, iOS is support for Windows Phone, there is no App
Which are I collect over time experiences added as updates at the bottom of the review
----- ----- Positive
+ High-quality clip (rubberised metal clip) sensor does not slip out safely
Compared to the supplied Misfit Flash clip is quality - the Tracker does not slip because he sure is safe enclosed from the clip, and there is the clip itself to rubber-coated metal - which holds more secure and has more grip. Nevertheless, you should be careful that you do not lose it - the safest option is probably the bracelet, but that will not be included (see cons). I wear the Tracker usually on the waistband, while it is already happened to me I almost lost him, because he remains for example when pulling the jacket hanging on selbiger
+ Plausible sleep evaluation (deep sleep / light sleep)
The distribution of deep sleep and light sleep looks to me quite plausible, even how often you wax indicates the Tracker correctly usually at
+ Very good, clear app
The app acts compared to Misfit Flash thoughtful and user-friendly.
There is the possibility of both sleep and the steps throughout the day and tagged activities to analyze exactly, and you get details such as. the longest inactive period, longest active period at a time, active time in total and the like presents
+ Beautiful look and feel
Compared to the Misfit Flash I find the feel-quality - you do not feel to keep a "low part" in his hand
+ Battery Runtime
The tracker is powered by a standard coin cell type CR2030. The manufacturer specifies a term of up to 6 months - I have the tracker is not so long, but I will update the review as soon as I know more. Anyway, you get the app notify you when the battery level falls below a questionable limit
+ Battery life of the phone is not affected noticeably
My Moto X is now running with the coupled Jawbone UP Move as long as before without
+ Sync with the app is automatic
If the smartphone is within range of the tracker automatically synchronizes periodically. Normally less frequently (about every half hour), if the app is running, however, about every minute
+ Individual activities can be tagged
via a button on the Tracker, the start or end of an activity will be marked - in the app you can then choose your exact details, such as. Pace, number of steps, distance and calories burned
+ Simple calibration of distance measurement possible
if one has even recorded an activity you can use this easily calibrate the distance measurements of the tracker (where you nachmisst the same route, for example with Google Maps or a GPS device)
If the Tracker has been calibrated once does the distance measurement on the basis of steps taken surprisingly well
+ LED indication (mode, destination for the day, time)
The built-in LEDs provide sufficient information to each time having to use the phone if you want to know the current status.
The following information is displayed:
* Mode (normal day mode, Activity recording mode, night mode)
* The percentage of the daily goal has already been achieved (about 12 white LEDs - 0% to 100% or even how much you already "shot across the goal" is to particularly active days)
* Time (the minutes are thereby correspondingly by the LEDs 12 due to 5 minutes exactly shown)
+ Bluetooth connection is not mandatory
The tracker also works autonomously when no Bluetooth connection to the phone is available and collects the data offline. How long exactly I do not know, but I have at least been tested already for a full day. When the smartphone is back in range, the Bluetooth connection is established without problems again
----- ----- Downsides
- Wristband included
unlike the Misfit Flash here wristband is included - During the day, that's not necessarily a problem because Jawbone recommended anyway to use the enclosed clip to achieve more accurate results. But a bracelet makes sense for the sleep tracking
- No automatic change of day and night mode
if you go to bed you have to move the Tracker via a long press on the button in sleep mode - and bring it back in the morning on the same procedure. If you forget that, you get no evaluations to sleep that night. That's a bit annoying, especially Misfit Flash and Sony SWR30 automatically switch between Day and Night Mode
- Adding "team members" only from friends
One can form in the app teams - but only from people that one has already been included in the circle of friends. Knowing no other Jawbone users remains a closed this feature. For me, however, hardly worth mentioning, since I already use the tracker for my personal motion profile and not about me with others to "duel"
- Step Synchronization not necessarily always on date
The Tracker syncs automatically though, but it comes before the current sync status, despite the steps the last half hour is not in the app are displayed. The always like "real time information" want to retrieve the phone So not ideal for users
- Not waterproof
You can take the Jawbone UP Move the pitch - but that's it, the Tracker is the only splash-proof, not waterproof. In comparison, you can tracking the Misfit Flash also Water Activities - who so much and regularly floats is not here any happy.
What is also not to be underestimated: the Tracker should times remain accidentally in the pants when it is washed, then that's just. I though the Misfit Flash washed together not intentionally, but the should bear due to the specifications.
- No web access
the evaluation of the data you can look at only in the app, since there is no real web portal for the recorded data. But that's a fate shared by Misfit and Jawbone users - as far as I know have only Garmin and Withings via a web portal that this name deserves
----- A few neutral points at the end -----
* Plausible Step Counting
Compared with the Sony Smart SWR30 band and the Misfit Flash the step count appears plausible. As a rule, the daily total is slightly below the Misfit Flash - Sony SWR30 counts most steps, which is but probably because it is worn on the wrist and not the waistband as the other two Tracker
* Food Tracking
The app provides the ability to track the food-consumption - this food easily entered manually or scanned using the barcode. The database of the app is not as lavish as MyFitnessPal - but to use well. One then obtains a calculated score from 0 to 10 a value that indicates how "healthy" it has nourished throughout the day.
----- Update 18/01/2015 -----
* The fact that there is no strap in delivery is far annoying because it clearly in this country is no way to purchase a bracelet are subsequently - at least I still can not make any source identified. Meanwhile I Clipse provisionally to get a sleep scoring the Tracker overnight ans strap.
* I now have the trackers almost 2 weeks in use, of which one week in parallel with the Misfit Flash. In summary it can be said that the sleep evaluation between Misfit and Jawbone quite narrow beinander is still - but in terms of counting steps is the Jawbone Move Tracker about 1000 steps behind what the Misfit records Flash day. The truth probably lies somewhere in between.
* The Tracker can also be used easily on the ergometer when installing it in the boot or on the socks.
