What can I say? The fears were unfounded. The TV is very easy to set up. A few screws in the stand and the matter is closed. For my taste, the whole thing feels very stable. Connecting all the cables (cables for television can, DVD player, etc.) is easy because all sockets are labeled on the back enough. Small disadvantage: There are only two HDMI sockets, which are located at the back of the case (!). This means quite a Gefummele when the TV is close to the wall. The two sockets are just as adequate for my case.
Are all cables connected, the TV-experience can start: After a few minutes, and a self-explanatory setup (for nontechnical users is even an exact step-by-step instruction on) the TV is completely configured. If desired can be made at any time even corrections to picture and sound.
For menu navigation can be said that it is a little difficult at first glance to figure out which menu item to hide behind what functions. With manual and a bit trying but can also easily master. I especially like that you can save several different channel lists. So every family member can create a list of his favorites. The switching between the lists is very easy.
For picture and sound me no gripe comes to mind. Both football matches (fast movements) and movies (often quite dark) are pleasant to look at. Admittedly, a stadium atmosphere does not arise in my living room. But the TV is also not designed. Excessive brightness adjustment, in which the brightness of even 1 / 2sec adapts to scene changes, or even color errors I have not found (-> this has been emphasized in its previous reviews). In very bright living rooms with windows on the opposite side of the non-glare screen could disrupt any.
All in all I am very satisfied with the Panasonic Viera TX-P42U30E. The price-performance ratio is more than okay. I would buy the TV at any time!
