Very nice multi-tool to handle, robust and well built.
One is immediately struck by its design (which I find very nice).
All tools are opened and closed easily clip, which I find very convenient.
At first glance, it is heavy. In a bag, its weight will not be a major problem but in a pocket, we feel the risk in the long run.
The locking system works for all tools so no risk they close on your fingers.
To release a tool, pull backward two metal pins on each side of the handle (seen in the photo is the small metal elements next to the padlock designs in the bottom of the handle).
This system can be quite hard at times to operate and do a little sore fingers but can close a tool by opening a few other next to it. Opening a tool pushes the locking system. It can help if it is hard to close a tool.
With a little practice, we can close a tool with one hand. By operating the locking system with the thumb and middle finger and pushing the tool with the index, but it takes a bit of force. With me it's the scissors that I often struggle to close it.
The two main blades (straight and serrated) are designed to open with one hand with the thumb. It's convenient and easy.
By cons, the length of the blades is small (about 4.7 cm by cutting blade). They will serve a few odd jobs nothing more.
(Anyway to make a better work spans a good and large knife.). The two blades are sharpened factory may not be as much as a Leatherman.
The wood saw seems effective but its reduced length (4.7 cm edge) will not allow him to cut large pieces.
The three screwdrivers (large and small dishes, and Phillips) are efficient and doing a good job. I have not had the opportunity to test them on strongly blocked screw but at least it works well.
Scissors are robust and effective. The blades are straight. I find a short hair but that's my opinion.
The return spring is very good maybe a hard hair. I've tested against the Wenger scissors of my S557. Both cut well but I have a preference for Wenger that offer more comfort (softer spring and that catch well serrated matter).
The folding / unfolding scissors is a bit confusing at first but you get done quickly.
The tool bottle opener / can opener is well thought out but the can opener really lacks bite. Sharpening is not going after the tool, so it is not as sharp as on a victorinox wenger or. Basically, the point of the blade shall enter canning is 1 mm wide against razor wire on my S557 Wenger. I think it will be a lot of strength to be a re-sharpening of the tool.
The bottle opener by against fulfills its function.
The clamp is terribly effective, though assembly (with a very slight play) and especially with an internal spring system to the open posture. It is well thought out and enjoyable.
The cutting part is effective for all that is thin wire. I can cut son of net less than 0.5 mm diameter without tighten. A bed is cut off you. This part of the net cut standard printer paper (50g). The bare-wire portion is also very effective.
The wide part allows catching big bolts (max 17, I think) and filled with brilliance its function. Now do not imagine changing a car wheel with this grip but for some minor work by car, for a cyclist, a motorcycle see this kind of grip is a must-have in EDC.
The clamp part serrated, you will grab or twist almost anything. I tried to twist wire and I did not notice any particular twist of the clamp. The jaws are always aligned. Now I think for a job that requires considerable mechanical strength, good clip will surely be more appropriate than that of Gerber.
The tip of the clamp consists of two small flat surfaces that are superimposed with no spaces (the teeth do not continue to the end of the clip). It is well aligned and allow to use the clip as tweezers without problems.
when using the handle of the clip appears comfortable. The rubber tips to handle inserts are a good idea that improves the comfort of the grip.
The transport ring is interesting if you are in height or water to avoid seeing falling or run your multi-tool. But I find it unfortunate that it takes the place of a possible tool. I have not seen anything like the retractable Leatherman. At worst, one can use the ring as a large screwdriver but the rounded outer shape does not permit application of great force. A flatter shape would have made the deal without serving the first ring part.
The axes of the tool and the clamp are terminated by Torx screws that tighten see right everything apart. A good point for me.
The holster comes with is very useful to protect the multi-tool (and what he around there) in a bag or even on a desktop without being great.
The outer edge of the case (which is also his fashion) is quite wide. At first sight, one could consider this as annoying but in the end we realize its usefulness: cushioning. If the multi-tool in the holster falls, this large seam effectively dampen the fall.
I would not be afraid to let the suspension in its case in the same bag that my smartphone and I go to walk one day with.
In short, I find this tool succeeded despite the smallness of its blades (good but nothing beats a good knife or a good saw anyway) and his opener really missing teeth. Otherwise, for the rest I think it will be very useful and its price is just unbeatable. It never leaves me.
Hopefully this review will help.
