Lowlights:
- Collar
- Battery Cover
-------
First of all:
-------
Coinciding with this camera I've tested the Samsung WB110 (150). As a layman, I would like to allow myself no judgment on the photo quality. Because I suspect that there's a lot of potential in the interplay between camera and photographer. Rather, the test should show whether the charge for the Nikon Coolpix L830 (220) is justified.
-----------------------------
First the externals:
-----------------------------
---------
Collar:
---------
somewhat brittle fabric with leather trim on the neck, not as smooth as with the Samsung WB110; a bit short: by the camera varies with their weight on the neck, although she puts in addition in the bag that is worn over the shoulder. 5 to 10 cm more would suffice here.
------------------
Lens Cap:
------------------
grabs well and attaches securely.
-------------
Battery compartment:
-------------
Cover plenty of play and rattling in the hinge when it is open; Closure every time very hakelig. To get better, shows the Samsung WB110. Battery compartment serves as a handle, but it's pretty close between battery and lens, so that you the camera is not as safe and relaxed as the Samsung WB110 holds.
----------
Other:
----------
An overview of the controls to safely get used soon. In the Samsung WB110 which is however made more intuitive. ZB starts and one ends with the Nikon Coolpix L830 video with your thumb, said Verwacklungpotential is greater than - as with the Samsung WB110 - with his forefinger. I have already managed to accidentally shoot a video.
The monitor can be, unfortunately - as with the Samsung WB110 - dim only slightly, for example, at night to look at pictures - so it will be permanently blinded and it also consumes more power.
One can - as with the Samsung WB110 - go directly to the playback function, without having to turn on the camera correctly; the lens cap can therefore plan to stay (although it always jerky then inside something).
--------------------------
Current settings:
--------------------------
While the Samsung WB110 to (almost?) Provides each setting more or less useful explanatory texts, it is the Nikon Coolpix L830 on the manual referenced (eg what is BSS, HS 240 / 8x * etc?).
Little joy prepares the fact that you look - has time and again by clicking on the respective sub-menu, such as when you exit the menu in between - unlike the Samsung WB110.
-------------------
Sound settings:
-------------------
Only On or Off for keypad tones (with nervigem beep, so just goes off) and trigger signal. Here spreads the Samsung WB110 with little effort more enjoyable: keytones not nervous and partly you can select the tones and set total to control the volume.
-------------------------------
AF area mode (focus area):
-------------------------------
Portrait; Manually, ie you can set the focus for example on the upper left; Center; Subject Tracking; AF target search.
A separate focus-selection as the Samsung WB110, there are not:
One can (or needs) just choose whether close-up or not. Everything else ("super macro") is probably automatically. (Maintain focus and exposure when you start recording be) while shooting a movie you choose between Single AF and Full-time AF (focus (and exposure?) Is constantly adjusted).
-------------
Image Quality:
-------------
When Nikon Coolpix L830 can be 7 different picture sizes (with aspect ratios of 4: 3, 16: 9 and 1: 1) select (lowest: VGA 640x480), all of a compression ratio of approximately 1: 8 have. The highest image size (4608x3456) is also available with a compression ratio of about 1: 4 to choose from, which should correspond well "Superfine" at the Samsung WB110.
----------------
Continuous Shooting:
----------------
* Frame
* H-series: up to 5 images at image size of 16M (approximately 6.7 frames / sec)
* L-series: up to 33 photos with image size from 16M (approximately 2.1 frames / sec)

-------------------------------------------

---------------------------------
Face Detection (smart portrait) with (or without) Skin softening, Smile timer and Blink proof.
---------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------- ------

----------------------
More Settings:
----------------------
In addition to the home time zone a travel time zone can also be set. So even with the Samsung WB110.
In addition to automatic recording, there is the "Easy Auto": except timer and exposure compensation settings are not possible.
Photo Editor is also available. Unfortunately, you can rotate an image by only 90 °. The Samsung WB110 also rotates through 180 ° and is reflected horizontally and vertically, and panoramic images.

Conclusion:
Who can do without accustomed to the hakligen battery cover and the handling of the camera and so funny things like Magic frame, split shots or Fun Slideshow (Samsung WB110), is for a special price with a beautiful camera with a folding screen, Super Zoom, Slow Motion and fast motion and stereo sound and Full HD "rewarded".
* HS 240 / 8x means that the camera takes a picture with 8X slow (slow motion), apparently with 200 frames per second. This is - like the other slow motion and fast motion - on the monitor impressive sharp. All Slow & Quick Motion recording is by the way completely without sound. In addition, you can not zoom during recording.
PS I have an image added yet (the Moon) above.
