Coup de Grace (Audio CD)

Customer Review

After 21 years now is finally the new studio album of the "real" TREAT around singer Robert Ernlund, in 1991 left the band and was replaced for the 1992 album "Treat" by Mats Leven. This also changed the old sound to something harder fare, but at "Coup de Grace" (in German: coup de grace) is back everything as you would for the 80-year-Kracher albums as "Organized Crime" or "Dream Hunter" ( with the grandiose "World of Promises") expects: crunchy guitars, powerfully arranged songs with melodies that immediately burn themselves into the hearing and of which one actually thought that something like this would no longer possible today.

Titles like "Roar", "Skies of Mongolia", "Paper Tiger", "I'm not running" or the bass-heavy "Tangled Up" invite to a downright, sing and get back to feel a bit like in the 80s although the sound was of course adapted to the 2010. TREAT have remained true to their style, unlike other bands and have not embarked on trends and experiments that other 80s rock acts have disappointed many of her fans.

A total of 13 new titles (Track 1 is not a song, but a sound collage as an intro), of which one would be potential singles in the 80s at least 9 may decouple - as high levels. In times in which albums are produced around quickly to singles, a very pleasing fact.

Conclusion: For me, definitely one of the best hard rock discs of 2010, if not the best. Absolute buy recommendation for fans of 80's Melodic Hard Rock!
