+ Lens is to focus the camera inaudible
+ No "Zoom Creep", focus and zoom ring work smoothly and fluently
+ Image Stabilizer works reliably
+ Not fault the bokeh (background is blurred pleasant.)
But:
- My objective was probably a Monday copy: Depending on the settings (eg, at F6.7 and 50mm) the entire right third of the picture was blurred. In practice, every other photo was right so blurred that one could see already in format filling display on a normal screen.
- The Canon Service Center (. Dtl in the way) has the first time the lens only, "adjusted", which helped nix, but took one month. The second time (with detailed, written description of the fault) the problem was solved. Overall, it has (also because of "increased repair volume") lasted a full three months before the lens finally worked.
- The image quality for me is still not satisfactory and is subjectively at the level of an entry-Kitobjektivs for
For films with the lens:
- My EOS 650D with this lens sucks the films by irregular, unnecessary refocusing, which means each about 2 seconds blur in the film. Before every shot I must virtually shut down the auto focus. (The Camera remembers not.) Otherwise, I risk an unusable video sequence, because the camera might just then readjusted the focus if you do not want it.
Maybe that was a consequence of the lens error, but other testers have determined a behavior.
If all copies are as high as my (after repair), I can not really recommend the lens. I lenses that cost less and take better pictures. But they are also louder.
