1. The handy size
Not too long ago, the size was the selling point par excellence, that is, the smaller, more subtle. Giant bones were from the day before yesterday. But while newer models - due to new uses - again on average have the screen size of the mini black and white tube TV, which my grandmother had are still standing in the kitchen 30 years ago, you can let the handy Mini Pro almost invisible disappear in your pocket - even if the pants fit a bit tighter. Toll! About the silly sayings of others who like to come when I pull out my mini Pro (Oh, that's sweet - oh, has ever a touchscreen - which is but not a smartphone, right?) I am amused delicious. Here, the Mini Pro in terms of functionality can certainly compete with other smartphones. For normal vision, the screen size is not a problem as there was also previously smaller displays. Otherwise, I have yet to discover any similar small smartphone. Even the models of other major manufacturers, which may be called "mini" or similar, acting alongside the Xperia Mini Pro downright gigantic.
2. A "real" keyboard
Maybe I'm nostalgic. But primarily the Getippsel text is on a completely flat display for me just horrible, especially since then even more letters are in each one of these non-simulated keys. The Mini Pro on the other hand has a genuine, even backlit keyboard with individual keys for each letter that anything can yet what the touch keyboards and can be pushed out of sight behind the display when not in use. Despite this feature, the Mini Pro is not the heavyweight division.
On other models, there's something Ingenious no longer - who should understand that?
After almost 3 years of use my Xperia Mini Pro is still very good shape - I've at times when planned obsolescence is on the agenda, not necessarily expect. Nice! I got my Mini Pro also well maintained and always treated nicely, do not drop or thrown around (you can hear so much good stuff), and keep it, if it's not on the table, still safe in your pocket on. The display I have provided with a protective film that is changed as needed.
Okay, one of the letter keys has lost after frequent use something to feel - you do not notice the pressure point. But the letter in question does not fully. And I changed the battery operating time in two years - is just a wearing part. Otherwise, everything is fine, no dead pixels, no failures, the case is also tiptop, the keyboard attachment sits as the first day.
I also do so just about everything you do with nem smartphone to call write, news, watching movies, gaming, pictures, reading, listening to music ... everything goes wonderfully. The supplied headset, incidentally, has a very fabulous sound!
Unfortunately, the Xperia Mini Pro limited so slow yourself, it's really exasperating: The internal memory has become too small. Because unfortunately one can see the way out. The apps are for some reason getting bigger and bigger (not necessarily better), and the operating system has unfortunately still far too much crapware on luggage. Right from the beginning you will not get around a retrofitted SD card if you want to take advantage of the many possibilities of a smartphone. And despite maxed until it stops App2SD, App deactivations and uninstallations can now update almost no app. For this, I have to deduct a star. Now please no tips rootet a smartphone - which for me is not an option, it's been that way.
The benefits outweigh indeed. Therefore the remaining four stars perfectly fine.
And the Xperia Mini Pro is one of the last representatives of a dying breed. Something's just not today. Certainly, these are all also reasons why the Xperia Mini Pro (virgin) apparently increasingly expensive place is cheaper - because if you can get one at all. Obsolescence? - Who knows. Perhaps the industry recognizes someday it definitely still is a market for such models. Maybe yes little experience smartphones with keyboards in a similar form at some point a revival, as is currently the giant bone. ;-)
